Iconic Winter Countryside

Happy Festive Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the theme challenge at the 52 Christmas card challenge.

The theme is ‘Winter Countryside’ but instead of reaching for my dies, I pulled out the Iconic Christmas stamp and die set from My Favorite Things. I bought this as soon as it was released a few years ago, but for some reason I don’t think I ever inked it up. Today was the day!

I adhered my little winter scene to a base that I had embossed with my newish Nellie Snellen Christmas Tree embossing folder and added a sentiment by Mama Elephant.

MFT Card Design Superstar Contest 2023

Hello dear friends!

I’ve toyed with entering the My Favorite Things Card Design Superstar contest for the past few weeks, but didn’t think I could come up with something that would  use my MFT products in a unique and clever way. But this evening as I was playing with the Sunflower Wreath Die-namics set, an idea popped into my head and I decided to give it a go and enter the Clean & Simple category as that is my favourite style!

And here is my Christmas ornament made with non-festive dies! To start, I cut the wreath from the set and adhered it to a circle cut from navy card. Next I cut foliage images from the Farmhouse Foundations and Fab Foliage Die-namics sets, trimming the larger images a little.

After arranging the images on the die cut circle, I added a few birds from the Birdhouses set and some dots from the Sunflower Wreath set.

I adhered the bauble to my card base and added a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Holiday set to complete my card.

PS I’m not sure if I needed to share the contest graphic, but here it is just in case!

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 24

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 24 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023! Today I’m playing along with this week’s Just Us Girls CAS challenge.

The challenge theme is ‘three of something’ and so it seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to use my Simply Graphic die set called Gang des peres de noel! I had such fun putting these together!

I cut the windows with an older My Favorite Things die and adhered it to my card base before adding the die cuts. The sentiment is by Creative Expressions.

Hello Lovely Singing Birds

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has a really interesting combo of orange, aqua, lilac and black.

I decided to use another bargain die set from Spellbinders’ recent Warehouse Clearance – I’ve had my eye on the Build a Winter Birdhouse for some time so I was very excited to snap it up! I added birds from another new-to-me set, Birds of a Feather by My Favorite Things. I loved this card that Laura Dovalo created using this set so I added vellum wings to my birds, just like she did!

The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

Day 3 – 6 Days of Christmas Tags 2022

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post. Unfortunately I only had time to make 6 tags this year.

Day 3’s inspiration is Day 14, 2012.

For my tag, I used a tag die by Marianne Designs plus a Sleigh die by My Favorite Things.

Bright Chinese Lanterns

Happy Sunday!

Today I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge which has a fabulous palette of blue, orange, cream and kraft.

I’ve noticed that I have been using blue/aqua backgrounds a LOT recently so I was determined that my background would not be blue – instead I sponged some Antique Linen distress ink on my card base and lifted some ink using water droplets. Next, I cut my Poppystamps Chinese Lantern die from some kraft card and coloured the lanterns using distress oxide ink and Prismacolour pencils. I used the mason jar from the My Favorite Things Farmhouse Foundations die set to cut some blue patterned paper and adhered my die cuts to the card base. Finally I added a Hero Arts sentiment.
