Pocketful o’ posies

Happy Friyay friends!

Life just got a little busy so now I’m playing catch up with The Daily Marker 30 Day colouring challenge and my wood stamp challenge. This is my colouring for Day 12. I decided to play along with the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. I love how they have such unusual sketches! I immediately thought of my Hero Arts stamps when I saw this one. Back in the day (15 years ago apparently!), Hero Arts produced the ‘Pocket O’ Posies’ sets – a trio of flower stamps in a little box. I LOVED them and collected quite a few sets. I used the Country Garden Posies for this card.

To be honest, I’m not sure about this card now that I have completed it. I feel like I should tweak something, but not sure what. So instead I shall walk away and look at it again tomorrow!

The sentiment is also by Hero Arts and I used dies by My Favorite Things and Simon Says Stamp.

Sending you strength

Hello everyone!

Day 11 of the latest Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring challenge and my personal wood stamp challenge.

Today I’m playing along with the latest challenge from The Paper Players. I was determined to use something other than my beloved Twinkling H2Os today so I opened up my Prisma Color pencils again! I loved colouring this older stamp, Delicate Flight, by Memory Box.

The image does not cover the full length of the card but I wanted to extend it so that the stems appeared under the sentiment. I simply cut the image and adhered it to my gold panel with a gap of about a centimetre between the two sections of the image. I adhered the embossed My Favorite Things sentiment over the gap. Shhhhh! no-one will ever know!

Happy Purr-thday

Hello everyone!

Day 4 of the latest Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring challenge and my personal wood stamp challenge.

Today I’m playing along with the latest My Favorite Things sketch challenge. I don’t usually play along with these challenges as I don’t have that many stamps by MFT, although I love them a lot! However, I saw that you can play along even if you don’t use MFT products, which I’m really pleased about because they have some fun sketches!

I used an older wood-mounted stamp, Cat Blocks, by Inca Stamp/Personal Impressions and a sentiment from a MFT kitty set. I has so much fun colouring these kitties!

Father’s Day Sails

Happy Father’s Day to my dear Dad!

Today I’m playing along with the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge, which is a super sketch this week.

I pulled out an old wood-mounted stamp that I bought YEARS ago when I first started stamping. It’s called Yacht Race by an Australian company, Stamp-It.

After I stamped the image, I cut around it using a My Favorite Things die and then coloured it using my Twinking H2Os. I adhered it to my base and added a Hero Arts sentiment to finish off my card.

Rad birthday roses

Hi everyone

Today I’m playing along with the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge…. and because I love the current combo over at the Color Throwdown challenge (raspberry, lavender, green and kraft), I’m also playing along with that challenge again!

I finally used the Paper Smooches Rad Roses die that I got a few months ago. I just love these Deco/Rennie Mackintoch roses so much, whenever I see them in dies/stamps, I almost always end up buying them!  Anyway, I cut the image three times – in white, green (blended mowed lawn distress ink) and lavender (blended Gina K lovely lavender ink) and then inlaid the roses and leaves.

I adhered a strip of Basic Grey paper to the left side of my card and then adhered a white panel to the right side of the card using funky foam. I embossed a sentiment on a strip kraft cardstock and adhered that, plus some more Basic Grey paper to the white panel. Finally I adhered the Rad Roses and finished off my card with a few gems.

Happiest of butterflies

Hi everyone!

There’s a wonderful sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.. and here’s my take on it!

I used the beautiful Simon Says Stamp Circle of leaves which I positioned so that the leaves would come from the side of the circle, leaving a nice little area for the sentiment strip.

I created the background panel from distress inks and stamped the My Favorite Things sentiment using a distress oxide ink. The two butterflies are by Penny Black.

I’m also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge – Anything goes.
