My Favorite Things

Featuring MFT products

Hi there pumpkin!

Hello friends!

Today, I’m playing along with the current Color Throwdown Challenge which has a lovely colour combo – grey, orange and cream.

I LOVED the inspiration photo, and it reminded me of a little scene I encountered in Harvard MANY years ago! Sorry about the photo quality – I actually took this with film! That’s how long ago it was!

So, for my take on the colours, I used my Harvard pumpkin scene as additional inspiration and got to work. I applied some Texture Paste through the My Favorite Things English Brick stencil and while it was drying, I made 3 panels using distress oxide inks. I die cut the Memory Box Pumpkin and Gourds dies and then arranged them on my card.  Finally I added stamped a sentiment by My Favorite Things to complete my take.

Fun Halloween Spirit

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the current sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches (which I rotated) as well as the current Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge where the theme is ‘spooky’.

I fell for this little ghost from Picket Fence Studios when it was released last year, but I couldn’t find it in an UK stores. When I saw it in the Dies to Die For shop a few weeks ago, I had to snap it up, even though I try to ration myself when it comes to buying Halloween supplies!

I created a fun blended background using distress oxide inks and then embossed a sentiment from My Favorite Things. I coloured and fussy cut the ghost and then added a generous layer of Pixie Dust over him! Look at that shimmer!

Snow-one else like you

Hi Everyone!

I rarely play along with the My Favorite Things sketch challenge. Not sure why.. maybe because it rarely pops up in my IG feed… maybe because whenever I see the sketch, I rarely have MFT product that ‘fits’ the sketch.

Anyway, this time the stars aligned and the sketch popped up on my feed and I immediately thought that one of the cute snowmen from the Frosty Friends set would work perfectly.

First, I created my background panel with the Snow Flurry stencil and Cosmic Shimmer Luna paste – look at that sparkle! I coloured the snowman using my Twinkling H2O paints and then started to assemble my card.

I used the colours from this week’s CAS Colours and Sketches but as I felt it needed a bit more red and blue, I die cut some little hearts and added them to my card.

Merry Whittle Penguins

Hi Everyone!

Today, I’m playing along with this week’s Case This Sketch challenge

I used my newest cute Christmas dies – the Whittle Penguins by Poppystamps, a background stamp and couple of dies from My Favorite Things and a Mama Elephant sentiment stamp. The Embossing Folder is by Taylored Expressions.

Snowflake wishes

Hi Everyone!

Today, I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge

I had fun playing with products with a lot of different companies for my take – the large snowflake is by Bright Rosa whilst the smaller snowflakes are from My Favorite Things. I used a heart stencil from Simon Says stamp with a baby wipe to lift ink from the blended strip and stamped a sentiment from an older Penny Black set.

I’m also entering this into the current CAS Stencil challenge where the challenge is to use a baby wipe.

Thank for stopping by!
