Heart Week 2025 – Day 6

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 6 of Heart Week 2025!

My card today is my entry for the current challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches.

With this card, I feel like I’ve truly embraced what I wanted to achieve with Heart Week! I ended up using old/older heart supplies and it was so much fun. I started with the fabulous Memory Box Floral Heart from 2014. I can’t actually remember using it before! I cut it from glitter card and adhered it to a heart cut from Spellbinders’ Waterfall card and coloured with Salvaged Patina. For some reason, this looks bluer in my photos than it does in real life…

For the embossed heart, I used the newest product on my card – the centre of a Memory Box embossing folder that I’ve had for a couple of years. The other hearts are from Memory Box/Open Studio and Poppystamps sets.

The sentiment is by Hero Arts – a very old wood-mounted stamp.

Fringed Flowers

Hello everyone!

Just popping in quickly with my entry for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

I’m having problems with my connection at the moment and I don’t want to miss the challenge deadline so I will be back later to fill in the details!

Edited to add: Now that I’ve entered the challenge, I can upload a few more photos and share a bit more about my card!

Memory Box’s new release arrived at Bumbleberry’s last week and I could not wait to order a few die sets! The Fringed Flowers set really stood out to me – I love the irregularity of the flowers, I don’t think I’ve got anything else like them at all! I cut them from Craft Consortium paper but used some different centres as I wanted something that was a little irregular and the centres in the die set seemed too perfect to my eye! I adhered the flowers to some white vellum and then turned my attention to the card base.

I spotted a white heat-embossed image in my ‘unused’ box and decided to trim that down for the background centre panel. I think the stamp is an older Hero Arts image. I dotted glue to the vellum behind the fringed flowers and adhered it to my panel and card base.

Finally I added a few gems – but no sentiment because time was short. I may add a sentiment under the vellum panel when I send it out, we’ll see!

Peaceful pine

Hello Everyone!

Back in July, I made the decision to make cards to send out this Christmas – and Today Me is very happy that I did that because now I can just craft for fun in December! Of course I seem to be making Christmas cards for all the challenges that I’m now entering, but that’s ok because there’s no pressure!

Today’s card is my entry in this week’s Color Throwdown challenge which has a combo of green, red and cream. Classic Christmas colours!

I used the beautiful Delicate Pine Frame die set by Memory Box, coloured with distress inks. The background was made using the Spellbinders July 2024 Club 3D embossing folder called Branches and Berries.

The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

30 Day Christmas Card Challenge 2024 – Day 28

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Martin’s 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge this month.

The challenge for Day 28 is the last sketch of the event!

I have to confess that I have a few poinsettia die sets that I have never used. Don’t know why I bought them. Actually I do know why – I can’t resist a bargain! Anyway, at least I managed to use one for this card! The Blooming Poinsettia set by Poppystamps takes centre stage, ably supported by sections of the wonderful Antique Pine Frame die by Memory Box. All images were cut from paper from my paper mountain!

The sentiment is by Woodware.

30 Day Christmas Card Challenge 2024 – Day 26

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Martin’s 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge this month.

The theme of Day 26’s challenge is ‘elf hustle’.

Is it me or are the themes getting more difficult as the challenge nears the end?

I was really stuck – I don’t do elves at all and I couldn’t even recall a set that might have one! By chance when looking for something else, I spotted an elf face on an Ellen Hutson set called Holiday Characters! Phew! I kept it very simple as this is not a card I will send, although I will donate it at some point. The image is paired with the Memory Box Large Twirling Snowflake.

30 Day Christmas Card Challenge 2024 – Day 19

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Martin’s 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge this month.

The theme of Day 19’s challenge is ‘wrapped in wonder’.

Lots of ideas for this one but I really wanted to use my new Nellie Snellen Presents embossing folder and stencil – so I did! I used new Pinkfresh inks and I have to confess that I was a little disappointed with the pink which turned out MUCH brighter than I would usually choose.

The silver parcels are cut from the Memory Box Pretty Presents die set and the sentiment is an older set by Poppystamps.

Thanks for stopping by!
