White Berry Wreath

Hi there everyone!

Today I’m playing along with this week’s Color Throwdown challenge where the colour combo is grey, kraft and white. This would have been perfect for another Christmas card, but I decided to go with a non-festive card this time!

For my card, I cut the beautiful Joy Crafts Circle of Berries die from kraft and coloured it with my white Prisma pencil. I then cut it twice from vellum and layered all three wreaths to my card base. I adhered the beautiful Pinpoint Butterfly Trio (Memory Box) and then an Avery Elle sentiment before adding LOADS of baby sequins to the card.

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 27

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 27 of Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the Christmas Card Throwdown challenge where the challenge is to use vellum on a window card.

I loved how DT member Rosi dry embossed the vellum on her card so I decided to do the same! I created a bold centre panel with distress oxide inks. I embossed some vellum using a Taylored Expressions folder and adhered it to a frame cut using the Memory Box Cross Stitched Frames die set. I then adhered the frame on top of the inky panel. I love that the bold colour still shows the vellum! Next I die cut the Forest Pine Branch and coloured it with distress inks before adhering it to the frame. I added two Poppystamps Winter berries die cuts and bows cut from the Crisps Bows set. Finally I added a sentiment from a Hunkydory/Moonstone set.

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 18

Happy Sunday everyone!

Welcome to Day 18 of Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has a stunning palette of navy, turquoise, green and magenta.

What a stunning colour combo! It took me quite a while to decide on a way to showcase it! First of all I was thinking of multicoloured snowflakes but then I remembered this beautiful large ring wreath die by Simon Says Stamp – an oldie but a goodie! I coloured each bauble with my Twinkling H2O paints and adhered it to a base that I’d cut using the brand new-to-me Pinpoint Burst die by Memory Box, which I finally got my hands on this week after MONTHS of waiting for it to get into a UK retailer again!

I then spent far too long working out where to put my sentiment and then how to adorn said sentiment! In the end, I chose a sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp/Avery Elle Stamptember collaboration, a Sizzix bow and some ribbon!

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 10

Happy Saturday everyone!

Welcome to Day 10 of Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has a palette of yellow, grey, black and white.

I was quite short on time today but I managed to grab a few moments this evening to make this card with the beautiful Memory Box Flowering Christmas Tree which I coloured with distress inks. I seriously can’t believe this tree is from 2011! Anyway, I added a sentiment by Simon Says Stamp, a pot from an Altenew die set and some gems to complete my card.

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 9

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 9 of Christmas in July 2021! I had one of those days today – a troublesome task which took MUCH longer than hoped and which will drag on due to a few technical hitches. Ugh!

So I wasn’t really in the most creative frame of mind this evening… but I had to make a Christmas in July card. So, this is just for fun, no challenges today – just a super quick die cut card using the Memory Box Antique Pine Label die, the Poppystamps Winterberries die and a couple of smaller Simply Graphic dies. All coloured with distress oxides inks! The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp.

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 4

Happy Sunday everyone!

Welcome to Day 4 of  Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at the Global Design Project.

I used my brand new Sizzix 3D Christmas Tree embossing folder – I love how all those fabulous trees look on that metallic cardstock – but it was quite difficult to photograph! I added an older Memory Box die and a sentiment by My Favorite Things to complete my card.
