Rainbow Maker, Day 3 cards

Hi everyone!

I’m still playing catch up with Online Card Classes’ Rainbow Maker class. Day 3 was all about rainbow die cutting and I was totally intrigued by May Park’s ‘poke-out die-cutting’ technique as I love inlaid die cutting, but it does take a very long time. I must admit I was a bit sceptical but this card came together so quickly! Definitely one to use again and again.

All dies and stamps are by Hero Arts.

Rainbow Maker, Day 5 cards

Hello everyone!

Day 5 of Online Card Classes’ Rainbow Maker class was all about rainbow stencilling mediums! I had such fun playing with my inks, stencils and pastes today! Have made a lot of backgrounds, but not yet converted them into cards so I will add them to this post when I’ve done them.

Anyway, as you can see, I did manage to convert one background into a card. The background was created using the ‘heat embossed overlay technique’ with a Dutch Doobadoo stencil and some Hero Arts white satin pearl embossing powder. I love the effect of this technique – but it was so difficult to capture in a photo!

Anyway, I finished off the card with a sentiment from Walter and Winnie which I cut from some glitter paper, plus a few glittery stars!

Rainbow Maker, Day 2 Cards

Hello everyone!

Day 2 of Online Card Classes’ Rainbow Maker class was all about rainbow stamping! After last night’s epic crafty session, I am determined to go to bed at a decent hour! I have managed to get one card completed and here it is:

I used a butterfly stamp by Hero Arts and fabulous inks by Altenew! I am so impressed by how well they stamp.

To complete the card, I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and a few of my favourite Pretty Pink Posh sequins! I’m going to enter this one into the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (Happy Birthday).

Hoping to add to this post later this week, when I’ve had a chance to do a bit more rainbow stamping!

Shimmering Hummingbirds

Hi everyone!

I’ve seen a few cards with humming birds recently and I really love them, so I bought the Hero Arts hummingbird dies to play with! I’m really looking forward to creating lots of different coloured birds with them!

Anyway, today, I coloured them with my Twinkling H20s and added them to the gorgeous Simon Says Stamp Bouquet of Thanks stamp. Lots of shimmer on this card (again!!).

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge and Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday.

Celebrate with Balloons!

Hi there!

It’s the Casology challenge blog’s fifth anniversary this week and to celebrate, they have chosen the cue word ‘balloon’.

Here’s my take: I practiced my no lines water colouring using a Hero Arts stamp and my Twinkling H2O paints. I wasn’t too sure when to stop colouring, but I knew that I didn’t want to create a super-bright card – so I ended up with a very soft image instead, but I think it works.

I added a sentiment from Altenew and did some very gentle ink smooshing on the background, but you can’t really see that in my photo.

Butterfly thanks

There’s another fabulous sketch at Case This Sketch this week! For my card, I embossed a Hero Arts background stamp with white satin pearl embossing powder. I then blended a mix of regular distress inks (Seedless Preserves and Abandoned Coral) and Antique Linen distress oxide ink and wiped over the embossing to remove any excess ink. I used water to lift some of the colour from the butterfly wings and splattered a little randomly across the rest of the background.

I added a vellum banner, Hero Arts sentiment and some Memory Box butterflies cut from glitter cardstock to finish off the card.
