Dixi Craft

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 17

Hi there!

It’s Day 17 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

I love the Swirly Tree by Dixie Craft and was excited to use it again today. I had originally planned to use it with a diffused embossed background but I didn’t really like how it turned out so I CASE’d one of my own cards from November 2023. I created an ink blended background using Pinkfresh inks and added a little trunk from another die cut. I think it completes the image, don’t you?

I used a Spellbinders/Simon Hurley embossing folder with matt silver mirror card. The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

Swirly tree

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with this week’s challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

I was short on time this evening so I opted for a very quick make using a fabulous swirly tree die (by Dixi Craft) and a Penny Black embossing folder.

Originally I had just planned to use the tree and the green embossed strip but when I tried that I felt the tree needed more of an anchor, So, I added a second strip of matt mirror card and also a piece of glitter card to act as a trunk/pot.

To complete my card, I added a Penny Black sentiment.

Spiralling around

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards and this fortnight we want to see CAS cards that are mostly white. Our sponsor is Stamplorations.

I love white on white and don’t use it enough! As we like to keep layering to a minimum over at AAA cards, I started by dry embossing a frame in the centre of my base card to support the focal point – the beautiful Dixi Craft Christmas Spiral Tree die which I cut from white glitter card. I added a silver die cut star and a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Words on a Line set.

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards on the AAA Cards blog and we are also joined by our wonderful sponsor, Shery, plus the super talented Sandie from London Days. She has some fabulous creations on her site!

Thanks for stopping by – I do hope you play along with us!
