Christmas in July 2020 – Day 17

Happy Friyay!

Welcome to Day 17 of Christmas in July! Today I’m playing along with one of my favourite challenges – the Color Throwdown challenge. This week’s colour palette is blue, green, peach and gold. I really like the shades in the challenge graphic this week so I knew I had to used my Speckled Egg distress oxide for the green! I decided to create a little Christmas tree scene using the fabulous Quirky Christmas set by Avery Elle!

I used a stencil to add some glittery snow to my card base and adhered the trees using foam tape.

To complete my card, I added a sentiment by Reverse Confetti.

Happy Dad’s Day 2020

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge ! I rotated and flipped the sketch, I think that’s allowed with this challenge…

I used an older stamp from a Hero Arts set and dies by Elizabeth Craft Designs and Avery Elle to cut  panel I had created with distress oxide inks.

Thank for stopping by!

Day 6 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year!

The sponsor for Day 6 was Avery Elle. I was drawn to  Nicky’s inspiration  – I just love the idea of a shaker tag! I pulled out my older Avery Elle Snowman and got to work! The sentiment is also by Avery Elle.

Color Throwdown Guest Designer Week 4

Hello everyone!

I’m so sad that this is my last post as the August Guest Designer over at one of my favourite challenges, the Color Throwdown. I’ve had a brilliant time – thanks to the DT who have been so kind!

We have another pretty, summery palette again this week – orange, pink, yellow and green. Well with those colours, I just had to choose flowers again! This time, I used a most-neglected stamp (Morning Glory border) from The Ton Stamps which I embossed and then coloured with my Altenew watercolours.

I edged the flowers in a green/yellow combo, but I didn’t feel that the yellow was vibrant enough so decided to cut my Avery Elle die cut sentiment from yellow card rather than a neutral colour that I’d originally planned.

Color Throwdown Guest Designer Week 3

Hello everyone!

This month, I have the honour of being the Guest Designer over at one of my favourite challenges, the Color Throwdown. I’m beyond thrilled!

This week’s colour pallet is amazing – purple, blue, turquoise and… yellow! Wow… the idea of yellow and purple really threw me for a bit!

I was originally thinking of a geometric-type design, probably because of the inspiration photo I think… but in the end I decided to break open my favourite Avery Elle butterflies for the first time in maybe a year! I stamped three images using Gina K inks (Wild Lilac, Powder Blue and Turquoise Sea), added some accents with my Prismacolor pencils and then cut them with the coordinating dies.

I decided to use yellow as an accent colour. I cut a white panel with the Simon Says Stamp Heart Breeze die – an oldie but a goodie! I adhered the panel to my card base and then inlaid hearts and dots which I cut from an ink-blended piece of card (I used Gina K Sweet Corn ink). I adhered my butterflies and stamped a Penny Black sentiment before adding a few small die cut butterflies and sequins to complete my card.

Wild spring meadow

Hello friend and happy Saturday!

Today I’m playing along with the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge. As soon as I saw the sketch I thought of my Arrow Mat border die from Avery Elle which I haven’t used enough yet! Perfect for the border!

I inked up the gorgeous Mama Elephant Wild Meadow stamp, which were so much fun to colour! I blended some distress ink to create the sky and then added a generous spritz of watered-down Pixie Dust. Hope you can see that gorgeous shimmer! To finish off the card, I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. I bought the set on clearance and whilst I rarely use the images in the set, that sentiment gets a LOT of use at this time of year. There aren’t that many spring sentiments out there!

Thanks for stopping by!
