A Flowery Hello

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge  This is one of my favourite challenges and this week they have a gorgeous colour combo… possibly my most favourite to date: plum, pink, peach and white. I must confess, I was a little nervous about creating something which would properly show off that gorgeous combo!

I didn’t like my first attempt, so I decided to try again with a different stamp and design! I embossed the beautiful Altenew Delicate Flowers Background stamp onto some plum cardstock and them coloured it in using my prismacolour pencils. To complete my card, I added a Winnie & Walter die cut and a few sequins!

Belated birthday vase

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge!

I pulled out my newest die set (Altenew Vases) and a few Simply Graphic dies and got to work. I had originally planned to emboss a frame using a Stamp Market die but I still haven’t mastered embossing with dies in my Gemini and ended up cutting the whole shape out instead! So frustrating but I added a piece of acetate and made the card anyway. I’m happy with how it turned out in the end.

The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

Altenew Inspiration Challenge

Hi there!

Happy Leap Day friends!

Today I’m playing along with the current Altenew Inspiration Challenge . I never usually play along with Altenew challenges but when I saw the inspiration colours, I thought they would work well with and idea I had for a freshly Made Sketches challenge. I started working on my card and suddenly my boiler broke down. Cue many days of just keeping warm, an very little crafting!

I finally picked up my half-made card again this morning. The sketch challenge is long over but I can still enter the Altenew challenge! So I finished off my card. I used the Leaf Canopy stamp set and coloured it with my Twinkling H2O paints. I added lots of splatters, not realising I’d also go them EVERYWHERE… including on my face! The patterned paper is from My Mind’s Eye and the sentiment is also by Altenew!

Day 1 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019

Hi everyone!

I’ve played along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags and completed at least 25 tags during November 2017 and November 2018-  it has made a HUGE difference to my Christmas preparations…. and stress levels, so I was very happy to see that the event is back again this year!

Once again, each day has a sponsor and I am going to try to use products from each sponsor wherever I can.

Altenew was the sponsor for Day 1 and once again the inspiration tags were amazing. In the end, I chose the tag made by Lilith Eeckels. The stocking stamp is by Altenew and the sentiment stamp is by Julie Hickey designs.

Believe in Yourself

Hi everyone!

There’s a great sketch for the Paper Players’ current challenge and I immediately thought of my Altenew Halftone Stars set. I created a panel using a John Next Door embossing folder and adhered it to my card base. I then used three star stamps and their coordinating dies and added them, plus a stamped sentiment from the set, to my card.

Plant Crazy

Hi everyone!

It’s that time of year when I usually go plant crazy in my garden… not so much at the moment…. My garden has started to resemble a jungle – all my shrubs have been growing like crazy and I have been spending quite a bit of my spare time in the garden trying to restore some semblance of order…. I’ll get there, I’m sure!

Anyway, when I saw that  the Paper Players’ current challenge was a CAS card with the theme of ‘plants’, I knew I had to play along. I pulled out my older and less-used Garden Grow (pretty apt name for the set, don’t you think?) stamp set my Altenew and got to work!

I masked off each of the plants as I stamped them, and stamped the table last. I coloured the images with my twinkling H2O paints and then added a sentiment from Clearly Besotted.
