Cards created for the AAA Cards challenge

Die cuts only

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards. This fortnight’s theme is die cuts only and our sponsor is Stamplorations.

I think this may be my favourite theme to date! I love using my dies – they are brilliant for quick CAS cards!

For my card, I used an image die from Simply Graphic together with a sentiment die from Savvy Stamps and a banner die from My Favorite Things.

I’m also entering this into the current Color Throwdown challenge (lilac, green, grey and white).

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards on the AAA Cards blog and Noga Shefer, an instagram follower, is our Guest Designer.

All you need is love

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards. This fortnight’s theme is ‘love’ and Uniko is our sponsor.

For my card I embossed and coloured a cute stamp from Impress Cards & Crafts. I bought it years ago – I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to use it! I added a simple sentiment from My Favorite Things to complete my CAS card.

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards on the AAA Cards blog and we are also joined by two Guest Designers Bev from Uniko and Sue from Sue’s Card Craft.

Love never melts

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards. This fortnight’s theme is ‘chilled’ and our sponsor is CAS-ual Fridays.

For my card, I created a blended background with Distress and Altenew inks. I usually use Altenew inks for all my layered stamping, but I was very impressed with how well the ink blended when I created this background. I then cut some white glitter card using a die from a kit I got from Create- A-Smile in late 2016. Aren’t those snowmen cute? To finish off the card, I added a few die cut hearts plus a circle frame and sentiment from Poppystamps.

I’m also entering this into the current Color Throwdown challenge (light blue, kraft and white) and the Casology challenge (glimmer)

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards on the AAA Cards blog and we are also joined by two Guest Designers – Milla from Mustesormi and Anita from Neet and Crafty. They both have some amazing creations, so please drop by their sites!

Playing with Perfect Pearls

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards. This fortnight’s theme is based on a quote – ‘Let today be the start of something new’ and Happy Little Stampers is our sponsor. You don’t need to include this quote or any other quote on your CAS card, but we’d like you to use it to as your inspiration! Maybe you could use some new supplies? Or a new technique?

For my card, I chose to use a new-to-me technique – stamping/colouring with Perfect Pearls. A few years ago, I bought a couple of sets of Perfect Pearls, mainly for the neutral colours, but the sets were good value and included coloured powders, a couple of brushes and the Perfect Pearls medium, which remained untouched…. until last week!

I must confess, I did go a bit over the top and ended up creating quite a few cards, as it’s such an easy technique! They’ll be popping up on the blog/Instagram over the next few weeks!

Anyway, back to the technique….

I stamped a Carabelle Studio stamp on some black cardstock with the Perfect Pearls medium and the dusted over the image with different coloured powders using the smaller brush from the sets. I used the larger brush to dust away the excess powder but had to resort to the magical Swiffer cloth for a few stubborn bits!

I trimmed down the card to create a square card and added a Penny Black sentiment, again using Perfect Pearls.

Sparkling Snowflake

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards. This fortnight’s theme is Sparkle (perfect for this time of year) and our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers. This challenge will run for four weeks over the busy festive period so it’s open until 6 January 2018. (2018! What happened to 2017?)

I had so many ideas for my card – mainly involving glitter paper/glitter paste/sparkle embossing powder! But none of them turned out how I wanted! So I kept it super simple and chose one of my favourite Memory Box dies from a few years ago. I cut my card base with the die and simply added some holographic paper behind it rather than attempt inlaid die cutting!

I ummed and ahhed about adding a sentiment and in the end I decided against it. At the moment, it can be used as a card for a friend who doesn’t celebrate Christmas, or a thank you card, or anything really. Besides, I can always add a sentiment when I use it! In reality I think I will simply leave it as is when I send it!

It’s been really grey here recently, but I was so pleased that the sun emerged very briefly when I finished making the card. Perfect for showing off the holographic sparkle! Isn’t it pretty?

A Trio of Trees

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards. This fortnight’s theme is Christmas and Uniko is our sponsor.

I’ve been making Christmas cards for a while now, but with a heavy frost over the past couple of nights, it’s definitely feeling more wintery here – perfect for staying in and creating! For my card I used a gorgeous scribble tree die by Simply Graphic which I cut from three different colours of glitter paper. I stuck these to my base card and then added a Penny Black sentiment – I quite like the contrast between the modern tree and more traditional font of the sentiment… what do you think?
