Christmas in July 2025 – Day 5

Hi there!

It’s Day 5 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

Time for another little tree I think! This time I chose the Lisa Horton/Spellbinders Nested Tree Frame die set. I just love that quirky little tree! I cut the three layers from the tree from patterned mirror card. The white snow layers are cut from white holographic card, but that’s difficult to see from these photos.

The die set contains a number of fabulous frames, but I wanted to do something a bit different so chose the Molded Frame 3D embossing folder as my background.

Can you believe that even with the dimension from the embossing and the layered tree die cut this card sailed through the 5mm slot in my mailing size guide ruler?! Yay!

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 4

Happy Festive Friday!

It’s Day 4 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025 and I have a twofer for you today.

I used the Memory Box Starburst Snowflake Discs die set that cuts a trio of snowflake images to cut five sheets of mirror card. I was originally planning a regular A6 card but preferred how I arranged the discs on a square panel so switched to a square card. After assembling my card, I decided to see whether I could use the negative pieces (ie the snowflakes) on a second card. I resisted the temptation to add more die cuts to that creation as I like all that white space.

I didn’t add a sentiment to either of these cards because I didn’t want to hide any of the pretty die cuts. I may add a small stamped sentiment to the second card – I think there’s a suitable spot above the larger black snowflake.

These cards are also less than 5mm thick!

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 3

Hi there!

It’s Day 3 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

Another day, another new die set! I picked up the fabulous Spellbinders/Simon Hurley Whimsical Bottlebrush trees in a sale last December. I love the variety offered by this small set but decided to focus on just one of the trees today (pretty sure the other tree in the set will make an appearance at some point this month).

Would you believe that all of the trees are made from just one piece of Craft Consortium 6×6 paper? Their papers are so versatile!

The sentiment is from an older Hero Arts set.

This card is also less than 5mm thick as I’ve used paper rather than card for the trees, but this does mean that the branches are quite delicate so I will probably add more glue before sending it out.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 2

Hi there!

It’s Day 2 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025 and I’m happy to report that it much cooler today and we had a few hours of glorious rain this morning. My house is finally cooling down! Phew!

I’ve made another mailable card today. In fact I actually feel it might lack a little something (foam tape!!)

I’ve used another new Poppystamps die that was released last year – the Nordic Wreath plus some of my precious Basic Grey paper mountain.

The sentiment is from an older Hero Arts set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 1

Happy Tuesday everyone!

It’s that time of year again! LucieG’s Christmas in July! Woohoo! It may be the hottest day of the year so far for us in London, but will that stop me celebrating all things festive? No way!

I’ve dedicated July to Christmas cardmaking since 2019 and had always felt that I reaped the benefits in November/December when life always seems to get super busy! Last year, instead of playing along with challenges, I chose to create for the pure joy of creating Christmas cards and I LOVED it! Unfortunately, later in the year I realised that a few of my cards were too thick for mailing at the standard rate so I still ended up making more cards in November/December. So this year, I want to make sure I have a good selection of ‘mailable’ cards.

First up, for Christmas in July Day 1, I’m using a new die that was released last year but I didn’t manage to use on a card – the Nordic Treeline die by Poppystamps. I actually CASE’d one of my own cards which was a favourite from last year’s Christmas in July. I would have liked to have given the trees a little dimension but I want to mail this card so I stuck the die cut directly to the background panel with glue rather than foam tape.

The sentiment is from a set that I bought from Craftstash before they sadly closed.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sunshine and Smiles all around!

Hello from an incredibly HOT London!!

Before I throw myself into Christmas in July, I wanted to share a few more cards that I made with Pinkfresh Studio’s Sunshine and Smiles release that I won last month.

I bought a few products when Pinkfresh arrived on the scene a decade or so ago but I didn’t really embrace their amazing product suites until I took part in the August 2024 Create and Connect event. I LOVED it and in particular how easy it is to colour their beautiful images with the coordinating stencil sets. Since then I’ve been tuning it to all their amazing Your Tube Live events, learning lots and buying a product suite or three!

First up are two more cards made from the beautiful Garden Medley product suite. I suspect that I wouldn’t have bought this suite because it’s not really my style (I probably would have bought the Keepsakes of the Heart). My goodness, how I would have missed out! I’m really hoping Pinkfresh creates something similar for Christmas!

I’ve shared these in other blog posts, but here are the two cards I created earlier this month, plus the cards I made with the Keepsakes and Timeless Tulips product suites.

Next up is the amazing lighthouse scene created with the Guiding Light suite. Oh, how I loved creating this! I had a lot of fun with the sky, but sadly the colours dried quite light – I need a heavier hand or darker inks next time.

The Playful Petals stencil/die set was also great fun to play with but again, I need to use darker inks I think – the colours are subtle in real life and don’t really show up in my photo. I played with lots of different layouts for these images but in the end I paired them with one of my oldest Pinkfresh die sets called Noteworthy Frames – dated 2018!

Last but by no means least is a card I created with the Summer Fun stencil/die combo. I confess that I wasn’t going to play with this one just yet but with it being the hottest day of the year so far I HAD to get it out today. I also used a background/frame die by Mama Elephant. The sentiment is from the Sunshine and Smiles sentiment set.

I had SO much fun with these products and I know I will be reaching for them time and time again – after Christmas in July of course. Many thanks once again to Pinkfresh for their amazing prize!

Thanks for stopping by!
