Colourful happy thoughts

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge .

It’s been almost a year since I played with the Stamp Market’s Add Some Greenery dies so today I chose the smaller one, some coloured paper and got cutting!

To complete my card, I added a sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp set and a few gems.

Vases of sunshine and love

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown ! What a beautiful palette this week – yellow, light pink, cream and green!

I just bought the new Altenew Vases set – they arrived yesterday so I decided to use them straightaway.

I combined them with some foliage dies and the fabulous mid-century frame die which I really don’t use enough! The sentiment is also by Altenew.

You are amazing, strong, brave

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m thinking of a dear friend.. here is a card I made for her with products kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

I wanted the beautiful Whisper die (51-737) to take centre stage so once I cut it, played around with different layouts before choosing this one! I used the largest die from the Stitched Frames set (51-709) and cut it from a white panel. I then blended some distress ink over my card base before adhering the frame. I coloured my image and added it to my card, tucking the end behind the frame. I stamped a sentiment from the Thinking of You set (30-825) and added some chunky glitter. I felt the card needed something extra so added some glittery butterflies from two sets (Flourish & Butterflies (51-198) and Butterfly String (51-648)) to complete my card.

Good vibes butterfly

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge .

I decided to go with a butterfly theme for my take on the sketch. I started off with some stamped butterflies, but I couldn’t get them to work in the way I’d envisaged. So I pivoted! I decided that the beautiful Memory Box Butterfly Vine die would be the focal point and used a circle of patterned paper for the second shape.

I masked off a section of my card base and used the Penny Black Script stamp (40-470) * for the horizontal strip and added the die cuts on top. Finally I added a sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp set to complete my card.

Heat embossed heart

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown ! When I saw this week’s palette of red, pink and gold, I envisaged a red heart with a gold pattern and knew I wanted to do some heat embossing. That magical technique that took my breath away during my first stamping class! I don’t see much heat embossing nowadays – a lot of crafters seem to be into foiling. It’s times like this that I wish I still had a craft stire near me where I could take a few classes before deciding whether to embark on the world of foiling. Alas my last store closed in late 2019 and so foiling remains off my repertoire until I get a chance to play with it!

An so gold heat embossing was on the agenda for me this evening then! I chose and older Hero Arts background stamp and got busy! Once I embossed the image, I cut it with a Memory Box heart die and coloured it with Lumberjack Plaid distress oxide ink. I lifted some ink using water.

Turning to my card base, I initially played around with a hot pink background but in the end went with a lighter shade of pink which I embossed using a Simon Says Stamp folder.

After adhering the heart, I added a Memory Box stamped sentiment and a few gold sequins.

Heart die cut collage

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown which has a fabulous palette of red, brown, pink and green! It’s the month of love and I thought these colours would be perfect for a little love card. I pulled out some dies kindly sent to me by Penny Black and got crafty!

I coloured the largest heart from the Heart Balloons die set using Spun Sugar distress oxide ink (51-493). Next up was the Ardor stem (51-097) coloured with Lumberjack Plaid and Gathered Twig and some pencil for extra detail. Finally I cut and coloured the delicate Airy stem (51-423) with Peeled Paint and a splash of Stickles.

After arranging the die cuts, I stamped a sentiment from the Love Big set (30-898) and few brown pearls.
