Christmas in July 2025 – Day 11

Happy Festive Friday!

It’s Day 11 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

Today I used the Simon Says Stamp Sprinkle Snowglobe embossing folder and some Pinkfresh Waterfall ink to create a snowglobe background.

The tree image is an older Memory Box die called Tall Pine and it’s from 2017 but I think I bought it far more recently than that.

I wasn’t sure where to put the sentiment so in the end I decided it didn’t need one!

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 10

Hi there!

It’s Day 10 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

Today’s card is not what I had originally planned at all… but my original idea wasn’t working so rather than spend ALL evening on it, I pivoted and did something completely different!

To be honest, I’ve been searching for a way to include that amazing frame from my Spellbinders/Lisa Horton Nested Tree Frames set for a while and when I decided to use the sweet Poppystamps Rudolph Collage die again, I found a way to use it!

The sentiment and bow are by Simon Says Stamp.

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 9

Hi there!

It’s Day 9 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025 and I must say that the subheading of this post, if I had one, would be ‘the one that almost got away’…

Today my tree image of choice is the Hero Arts Tree Pattern cover plate. This was released almost 2 years ago and I have spent most of that time convincing myself that I didn’t need this die. I already have MANY tree images and this particular coverplate was absolutely EVERYWHERE when it was released. That was actually what stopped me from buying it back then because I couldn’t think of a way of using it that would be different from all the ways it had already been used by the various Hero Arts designers.

But it was always there, lurking in the back of my mind….

I finally gave in and bought it from a US store earlier this year…. and of course a few weeks later one of my go-to UK stores got it back in stock!

Anyway, the good thing about ‘fast craft’ is that I haven’t seen this ‘in the wild’ for some time and I have lots of ideas for it now! First up was quite a labour of love – a shaker card! Yep, each of the trees (and the three stars) is a mini shaker! I die cut a layer of fun foam and adhered that to my patterned paper base, filled it with little beads and sequins before adding the acetate and a layer of die cut paper on top.

The sentiment is by Whimsy Stamps.

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 8

Hi there!

It’s Day 8 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

Today I pulled out the Spellbinders Layered Noel Foliage stencil set and used it with non-traditional colours (Milled Lavender distress ink and cubes from Pinkfresh Studio’s Urban Raincoat set of grey inks). Spellbinders have a few stencil sets in this series and I deliberately chose one where I felt could easily use a different sentiment instead of the stencilled ‘Noel’.

This card will go to a friend who doesn’t celebrate Christmas but always sends Christmas cards, so I chose a wintery Creative Expressions die cut sentiment. I’m sad that Creative Expressions has closed but fortunately their dies are still around in many online stores!

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 7

Hi there!

It’s Day 7 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

I chose an older set for today’s tree card – Neat & Tangled Scandinavian Prints Christmas. It’s difficult to believe that this set is from 2016! I have the stamp set too but I wanted to focus on the dies today and cut them from various speciality card. The base is a fabulous Heffy Doodle background die, cut with a snowglobe shaped die.

The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

Christmas in July 2025 – Day 6

Hi there!

It’s Day 6 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2025!

While I had decided that I wouldn’t play along with challenges this month, I smiled when I saw the sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge because I had a set of dies on my craft table that would work beautifully… so I played along!

The set of dies in question are the A6 Christmas Sparklers die set by Creative Craft Products, a brand that was in Craftstash.

I chose a portrait layout which I felt worked better given the size of the dies and used a die from Pinkfresh Studio Noteworthy set to create the label.

The sentiment is from an older Hero Arts set.
