Blue blossom branch

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge which has a combo of coral, light blue and navy.

I remembered a card that I’d made for a similar combo a few years ago and decided to showcase another stunning background die – the daisy chain background by Pinkfresh Studio. I adhered it to my card base and adhered a frame that I’d cut with an arch die. I cut the Paper Rose Blossom Branch die from some glitter card and added it to the card base. I coloured a few flowers with alcohol markers and then filled in the rest of the flowers with the die-cut petals – quite a laborious process, I have to say!

Finally I added a sentiment by Birch Press Design to complete my card.

Stencilled embossed trees

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the technique challenge at the 52 Christmas card challenge.

I ended up using my new Nellie Snellen Christmas Tree stencil with the coordinating embossing folder. I used the stencil with distress inks to highlight a few trees.

The sentiment is by Memory Box.

Mod winter hugs

Hi everyone!

For my final card of the day, I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches.

There are so many possibilities for this sketch – too many sprang to mind and I dithered until the 11th hour when I grabbed my brand new Tim Holtz/Sizzix Holiday Blocks thinlets dies and got cutting! I used some Craft Consortium papers and so this card came together in less than an hour… I just made the challenge deadline – phew! The sentiment is from a Mama Elephant set. I think I would have preferred ‘winter wishes’ but this works!

World of Thanks

Hi there!

Next up today is my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I struggled a bit with my original plan for this sketch so started over! I was so happy when I found my bargain Hero Arts Beautiful World stamp set that I bought over the summer but hadn’t yet used.

I coloured the image using my Twinkling H2Os and fussy cut it. I made a small cut into the image so that the flower cluster would sit on top of the sentiment strip (from the same Hero Arts set)

Harvest of Sweet Memories

Hello everyone!

I have a few posts today as I share cards I made recently for a few challenges that close today.

First up is my entry in the Color Throwdown challenge using some products kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

The combo this week is mossy green, rust, kraft and cream – another set that’s perfect for autumnal cards!

I have to say the background was a labour of love! I cut the Leaf Pattern die (51-432) from a panel of cream cardstock. I put the main image to one side (you may see that later this autumn!) and adhered the frame and 3,000 tiny leaves to the card base.  I used the die cut image as a guide to position all the leaves and then worked in sections, picking up gluing down about 8 at a time. It didn’t take too long really!

All the stamped images are from the fabulous Owlsome set (30-718) – I just adore that owl with his leafy ears and wings! And the separate leaves are so pretty! I coloured them with my Twinkling H2O paints and added some stickles too – I wish you could see how sparkly this is in real life!

The sentiment is from the Always Thankful set (30-932).

Harvest love

Hello friends!

Today I’m playing along with the current sketch challenge over at The Paper Players using products kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

First I cut and embossed the four background strips with the Variegated embossing folder (65-008) and then turned my attention to my focal point. I chose the largest pumpkin and foliage from the Pumpkin Parade die set and used them to cut some old inky panels. After adhering the die cuts to my card base I added a sentiment from the new clear stamp set called Autumn Boots (31-013).
