Snowflake Tree Cloche

Happy Festive Friyay!

Today I’m playing along with the current colour challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown!

When I saw that this week’s colour palette was blue and white I was excited to play along with the challenge – it’s the perfect combo for icy cards!

I decided that I wanted to use one of my wood mounted rubber stamps and had already decided that I would pair the stamp with the Concord & 9th Cloche die set that I bought before Christmas but never got round to using! I have two snowflake tree stamps – one was too large but this one, by Inkadinkadoo, was perfect! I heat embossed it and then blended some distress ink across the background.

I used a number of the Concord & 9th dies to create the cloche scene which I adhered to a blue card base and then added the flourish and flakes from the Memory Box Wintry Snowflake Bundle set.

Happy Valentine’s Day 2024

Happy Heart Day everyone!

I’ve been keen to play with the Poppystamps Nordic Bird die set again (see disclaimer below) and so I started with that as my focal point. Once again, I cut the bird from glitter card and coloured it with alcohol markers.

I decided to perch him on the beautiful Serafina Heart – an older Memory Box die from 2012, still one of my favourites!

I was originally planning to create a white embossed background but suddenly decided to use the die from the pretty Meadowblossom Frame and stencil set, which I cut from glitter card.

I adhered gems and pearls to the centre of the flowers and added a Reverse Confetti sentiment to complete my card.

I’m entering this into the Poppystamps Heart Eyes challenge.

Nordic Bird set – disclaimer

I received this Nordic Bird set directly from Poppystamps. We are not sure how the bird from my die set ended up looking in a different direction from the image on the packaging and on the DT cards on the Poppystamps blog!

Heart Week – Day 7

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 7 of Heart Week! What a fun week it’s been! And I still have more ideas and stamps and dies that I want to use!

Anyway, my heart card today is my entry for this week’s challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

I stated by creating an ombre ink blended panel using Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Unchartered Mariner distress oxide inks. I cut a large heart using an old Ellen Hutson die set and then cut smaller hearts from two Memory Box dies – Bundle Heart and Tender Heart. I have to confess it took me a LONG time to arrange all those hearts!

I cut a small section of a Studio Light border die and adhered it to my card base before adding the heart and finally a sentiment by My Favorite Things.

Heart Week – Day 6

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 6 of Heart Week!

My heart card today is my entry for the colour challenge at the Color Throwdown which has a palette of blue, lime and brown.

My focal point today is one of my oldest Simon Says Stamp die sets – the Heart Wreath die which dates from 2014! I can’t believe this die is ten years old! I can’t remember when I bought it but I do know I’ve had it a while.. maybe eight years or so. I went back into the Simons gallery to get some inspiration and found this beautiful card by the talented Debby Hughes.

I coloured the wreath, leaves and hearts with distress inks and cut a vellum tag using a die from the Stitched Banners set. I adhered everything to a background that I’d stamped with a 2018 stamp (Modern Rose Blooms). I then added a Poppystamps sentiment (Doodle Happy Valentine’s Day) and a sprig by Memory Box (Sylvan Sprig).

Heart Week – Day 5

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 5 of Heart Week!

What happens when Heart Week and Festive Friday collide? Well, you get my heart card today for starters – and it’s my entry for the sketch challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.

My focal point today is a pretty tree from the Simon Says Stamp Festive Trees set, coloured using my Twinkling H2O paints. I cut the hearts from the Bundled Hearts set by Memory Box and adhered all images to a card base that I’d sponged with Tumbled Glass distress ink. I also stencilled a few hearts using an older Simon Says Stamp stencil

To complete my card, I added stamped sentiment from a My Favorite Things set.

Heart Week – Day 4

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 4 of Heart Week!

My heart card today is my entry for the February challenge at The Flower Challenge where the theme is ‘add a heart’.

Today, I used the pretty, new to me Meadow blossom frame die and stencil set by Poppystamps – this was a joy to colour! I paired it with the Drifting Butterfly die and a sentiment by Memory Box.
