Orange Gerbera

Happy Friyay!

I was fortunate to win a Uniko set of stamps through the Less is More challenge blog last month and I chose the Gerbera set. They’re my first Uniko stamps and I was so surprised by the size of the set when it arrived – so much bigger than I was expecting! The images are great for colouring and I chose one for my entry for this week’s Freshly Made sketches challenge. I embossed the image and then coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os. I added some paper from My Mind’s Eye and a sentiment from Hero Arts plus a few enamel dots to finish it off!

Let your beauty run wild

Hi everyone!

When I saw the colours for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge, I immediately thought of my gorgeous Hero Arts layering Bengal tigers stamps and ended up making quite a bold card using the challenge colours (dark red, blue, golden yellow and white). I used a Hero Arts stencil for the background and fussy cut the tiger as I don’t have the coordinating dies. I used the sentiment stamp from the set but masked off the ‘wild’ and replaced it with a Reverse Confetti die cut word instead. Oh and I couldn’t resist adding a few sequins to finish it off!

Celebrate red, white and blue!

Hi everyone!

I used a gorgeous die from Poppystamps together with a Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz sentiment for today’s card. I must confess that the inlaid die cutting took quite a while – lots of tiny pieces to stick down!

This card is for a number of challenges: Less Is More (use your flag’s colours – I used the colours from the Union Jack), Case this sketch and Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (use red, white and/or blue).

Love cat

Hi everyone!

For today’s card, I used an older Art Impressions image which I coloured using my Twinkling H2O’s. The colour of the hearts is really close to the colour of the patterned paper in real life – I couldn’t capture it properly in a photo, unfortunately.

Anyway, I also used some of my older patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye, an older Avery Elle sentiment die and even a Martha Stewart punch which I think I’ve probably had for a decade!! I love using all the wonderful new products that companies are releasing, but it’s still so much fun to revisit older supplies too, don’t you think?!

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (Anything Goes/Art Impressions products) and as the As You See It Challenge.

Oxide Butterflies

Hi everyone!

I was super excited that both Seedless Preserves and Abandoned Coral were included in the latest Distress Oxide ink release! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them and play! They are absolutely gorgeous!

Anyway, for this card, I included some Broken China oxide ink as well to create a background which I spritzed lightly with perfect pearls to add a bit of shimmer.

I used some glitter paper to cut  out a fabulous background die from Memory Box and adhered it on top of my distressed panel.

To finish off the card, I used a sentiment from My Favorite Things.

Time Flies by….

Hi everyone!

The theme for this week’s Casology challenge is ‘fly’ and here is my quick take.

To add a bit of interest to the base, I embossed a piece of white cardstock with a Spellbinders embossing folder. The main image is from Hampton Art – I’ve had this stamp for AGES, but I’ve rarely used it…. It’s one of my frequently used sayings so it’s quite weird that I haven’t used this stamp very much!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by!
