Simple one layer Happy Birthday card

Hi everyone

I’m very excited that my Stamptember goodies came today!!!!! Before I open them up and start playing, I thought I’d share this card which I created for the current Less is More challenge – which has a theme of ‘colouring in/one-layer card’.

I stamped an image from the Simon Says Stamp Spring Seeds set and then added a sentiment from the Sketch Ranunculus set. Thank goodness again for the MISTI – I was able to position the sentiment in exactly the right spot! Would have taken ages in the pre-MISTI days!

Anyway, I dry-embossed a Spellbinders die around the image and then coloured using my Twinking H2Os. I added a touch of stickles to finish it off.

I’m also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge – both have the theme of ‘Stamp It’.

Thanks for stopping by!

Colourful Autumn Greetings

Hi everyone!

I’m so looking forward to getting my hands on the gorgeous new Fractile Leaves stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, but while I’m waiting (not so patiently) for it to arrive, I thought I’d have a play with the ‘One with nature set’. I love how versatile this set is and I had such fun colouring the trees!

I popped the die cut trees onto an ink-smooshed  background and then added a greeting from Hero Arts to finish it off.

I’m also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge and Work it Wednesday  – which all have the same theme – stamp it!

Get well wishes

Hi everyone!

There’s a really strong colour combination for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge – red, black and white. My mind was whirring with so many possibilities for my take on this!!

In the end, I decided to use the sketch from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I cut a circle from a black panel and used my Nuvo aqua shimmer pen to add a bit of shimmer to the white background exposed by the circle. I used an older Memory Box die to cut some glittery red paper and attached this to my card. Finally I added a Clearly Besotted sentiment to finish it off.

Shimmery flowers

Hi everyone!

There’s a colour challenge over at the Less is More challenge blog this week – royal blue and lime green and here is my entry!

I masked off a section of card and stamped a beautiful Penny Black image which I then coloured with my Twinkling H2Os.

I added a few Nuvo drops plus a glittery Poppystamps die but still felt my card was missing ‘something’. So I added some shimmer to the background of the stamped panel using my Nuvo Aqua shimmer pen. Really loved how it turned out!

I’m also entering this into the current challenge at The Flower Challenge blog (tic-tac-toe – I chose  the bottom row – white – die cuts – blue).

On my mind

Hi everyone!

There’s a great sketch over at the Case This sketch challenge blog and I used one of my favourite Simon Says Stamp sets for my take!

I embossed a few of the stems from the ‘Artsy Flowers set’ and then coloured them using my Twinkling H2o’s.  (This was also what I chose to colour for Day 6 of the Daily Marker 30 Day challenge).

I added an embossed sentiment, also by Simon Says Stamp, to finish it off!

I’m also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge and Work it Wednesday  – which all have the same theme – stamp it!

Time out – glorious bird

Hi Everyone!

I’m back with my second card as guest designer for the current Time Out challenge. The theme of the challenge is to CASE a card created by the talented Beverley Brown. Here’s my second take on it! I used my distress inks to create a blended striped rainbow background and added a die cut from Sizzix. I finished off the card with a sentiment stamp from Ellen Hutson and a few sequins!

Do stop by the Time Out challenge blog and check out more inspiration from the fabulous design team! I hope you can play along too!

Thanks for stopping by!
