Time to Celebrate!

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards. This fortnight’s theme is ‘Celebrate!’ and Happy Little Stampers is our sponsor.

For my card I used one of my old wood-mounted Amuse Studio stamps. I love using it for celebratory cards! Anyway, after I embossed it, I blended some distress ink to create the background and added some light shadows using a Prismacolour pencil.

I decided to use a black card base for added impact so once I decided where the image was going to go, I embossed a small Penny Black sentiment. I stuck the image on to my card, but felt that the card still needed ‘something’. After pondering for a while, I decided to added a banner that I’d cut from some gold mirror card – which I think finishes the card off quite well!

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards on the AAA Cards blog and we are also joined by Guest Designer Ros from Mikey’s Mom blog. She has some amazing creations on her blog, so please drop by her site!

I’m also adding this to the current Just Us Girls challenge – silhouette stamping.

Thanks for stopping by – I do hope you play along with us!

Day 11 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

The sponsor for Day 11 was Studio Katia. I only have a couple of products by them as they are difficult to get hold of in the UK.I do however have a wonderful die set and I used that as the base for today’s tag. I love the elegant tags that Tracy Freeman created for the challenge and pulled out some products from Simon Says Stamp for my take.

I loved how Tracy used a Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen on her poinsettia, and wanted to add some glitter to mine. I applied Stickles with a paint brush at a card class a few weeks ago and decided to see whether the Tonic Studio Nuvo glitter drops could be used in the same way. I’m happy to say that I ended up with lovely glittery petals! So difficult to capture in a photo!

Day 10 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

The sponsor for Day 10 was Winnie & Walter and the DT had come up with tons of amazing tags! I took the snowman tag that Tracey had made and used that as my inspiration for my little scene!

I stamped the images and then masked them before creating my Distress Oxide background. After I had applied a generous amount of water droplets to the background, I removed the mask and coloured the images with my Twinkling H2Os. This was another super quick tag to make – even thought the mask for the branch was rather fiddly!!!

Day 9 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along withTracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

The sponsor for Day 9 was Paper Sweeties. I must confess, I have never heard of the brand so spent a good while on their website looking at their fab goodies! I really liked Lisa Bzibziak’s tag using patterned paper and die cuts so I got to work with some of my oldest Basic Grey patterned paper and dies from Impression Obsession and Lawn Fawn. I finished off the tag with a Hero Arts Sentiment.

Day 8 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

I was so pleased to see that the Day 8 sponsor was Sunny Studio. I got their layered bell set last year and I absolutely love it. In fact, I love all their layering stamps – I find them so easy to line up! Anyway, when I looked at the DT designs, I really like how Francesca Vignoli had used a couple of stamps and a bold sentiment in her tags and that served as my inspiration!

I inked up my beloved bell – and then added the pine branch and bold sentiment from the same Sunny Studios set. To finish off the tag, I added some stickle for a bit of sparkle!

Falling leaves

Hi everyone!

A lot of the leaves have already fallen in my part of the world, but I’m not ready to put away my autumn card supplies!

This card was super simple to make! I used a Jennifer McGuire technique that I’ve tried a year ago – I prefer this version!

I masked off my card to create a rectangle and then blended some Twisted Citron and Fossilised Amber distress ink before covering it with Perfect Pearls.

I removed the mask and then ran the whole card through my Big Shot using a Sizzix deep embossing folder.

To finish off the card, I added a few die cut hearts and a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (Thanks/Thanksgiving), Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge (‘Thankful’) and also the Addicted to CAS challenge (‘Leaves’).

Thanks for stopping by!
