Leafy Autumn Greetings

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m playing along this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge

I heat embossed the fabulous Hero Arts/Basic Grey Graphic Leaves Background stamp and coloured it with my Twinkling H2O paints. Oh how I miss Basic Grey patterned paper! Although it makes up a decent proportion of my little-used patterned paper mountain, I still miss those wonderful, unique collections.

Anyway, I adhered the background to a base card and then added a sentiment, also by Hero Arts to finish off my card.

I’m also entering this into the current A Blog Named Hero challenge where the theme is ‘nature’

.

Geometric Tree

Hi there!

It’s time for a new challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card with as much white space as possible; our optional twist is ‘geometric’. Our sponsor is Uniko.

I always seem to use triangles for geometric challenges and as you can see, this time is no exception! I stamped and embossed an image from the Simon Says Stamp Festive Trees set and then coloured the triangles with my Twinkling H2o paints. The sentiment (which I also embossed) is by Mama Elephant.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Emily Shroom, who has some lovely inspiration on her blog!

Hope you can play along with us!

Fun Halloween Spirit

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the current sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches (which I rotated) as well as the current Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge where the theme is ‘spooky’.

I fell for this little ghost from Picket Fence Studios when it was released last year, but I couldn’t find it in an UK stores. When I saw it in the Dies to Die For shop a few weeks ago, I had to snap it up, even though I try to ration myself when it comes to buying Halloween supplies!

I created a fun blended background using distress oxide inks and then embossed a sentiment from My Favorite Things. I coloured and fussy cut the ghost and then added a generous layer of Pixie Dust over him! Look at that shimmer!

Snow-one else like you

Hi Everyone!

I rarely play along with the My Favorite Things sketch challenge. Not sure why.. maybe because it rarely pops up in my IG feed… maybe because whenever I see the sketch, I rarely have MFT product that ‘fits’ the sketch.

Anyway, this time the stars aligned and the sketch popped up on my feed and I immediately thought that one of the cute snowmen from the Frosty Friends set would work perfectly.

First, I created my background panel with the Snow Flurry stencil and Cosmic Shimmer Luna paste – look at that sparkle! I coloured the snowman using my Twinkling H2O paints and then started to assemble my card.

I used the colours from this week’s CAS Colours and Sketches but as I felt it needed a bit more red and blue, I die cut some little hearts and added them to my card.

Autumn handful

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m playing along this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge

I was originally going to create a cluster of little Christmas trees but I suddenly thought of the gorgeous elements in the Pretty Pink Posh Autumn Wreath set. I’ve used the wreath quite a few times, but those little elements are barely used! So I chose a few, embossed them in gold and coloured them using my Twinkling H2Os.

I smooshed some distress ink onto a card base and added a few paint splatters. I adhered the Hero Arts sentiment and then arranged my autumn elements!

Such a fun card to create!

Hi, Hi Butterfly!

Hello friends!

Today, I’m playing along with the current Color Throwdown Challenge which has a lovely colour combo – grey, lavender and black.

I created a background panel using watercolours and Distress Oxide ink. I must confess I spent far longer on this than I should have. I couldn’t quite get a colour mix that I felt was representative of the combo. Eventually I was satisfied and cut the panel with the beautiful Lil Inker Designs Butterfly Cover Up die. I adhered the die cut to a black card base and inlaid some glitter card. Finally I added a sentiment, also by Lil Inker, to complete my take.

Thanks for stopping by!
