Jeu de l’Avent 2021 – 03

Hello everyone!

Today I’m finally playing along with Simply Graphic’s advent challenge!

I discovered Simply Graphic a few years ago and fell for their dies – they are so delicate and unique! I’ve been watching the daily challenges on Instagram and hoped I would have time to play along – and today was that day! I’m not sure that I will be able to do many of the 24 challenges, but hopefully I will complete at least 12… we’ll see!

To start with, I chose the sketch from Day 3. This card uses an older polar bear die and a fun tree die from Simply Graphic. I added a Penny Black sentiment because I don’t have any Simply Graphic stamps.

A Seasonal Arrangement

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the last Color Throwdown challenge of 2021 and it has such a pretty, peaceful palette – mint, red and pink.

Rather than use my go-to white card base, I chose a light grey as neutrals are allowed! I decided to create an arrangement using the Memory Box Antique Pine Label die and some stems/flowers from the Spellbinders Christmas Blooms set.  During Christmas in July, I discovered the perfect sentiment for this die cut (by Simon Says Stamp) so I’ve used that again this time!

Dancing Snowflake Tile

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

When I saw this sketch I immediately thought of the Poppystamps Dancing Snowflake Tile die again – I last used it back during Christmas in July for another Freshly Made Sketches Challenge and I knew it would be perfect for this week’s challenge too!

This time I cut it from glitter card and added it to some paper from my patterned paper mountain. The sentiment is by Penny Black.

Day 25 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2021

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post.

Day 25’s inspiration is Day 18, 2017. Here’s the tag I made then!

I love Avery Elle, but I also really wanted to finish off my tags quickly! So I chose Brianna’s tag as inspiration for my design but replaced the foliage with Avery Elle snowflakes!

And that concludes my own tag challenge this year. While I really missed Tracey’s event, I was so grateful that she has so much inspiration from the past decade and I loved how her style evolved as the challenge got bigger and bigger. The only downside for me really was that I started too late and so this challenge really cut into my December crafting. I will certainly try to start on 1 November next year!

Retro deck the halls

Hello again everyone!

Next up today is my entry for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge, which has quite a retro combos – pink, turquoise, green and black.

I turned to my new die sets from The Greetery. The background was created with the Pine Wisp die set and then I added ornaments from the Curio: Attic Ornaments set. To complete my card, I added a sentiment by Sunny Studios.

Day 24 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2021

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post.

Day 24’s inspiration is Day 4, 2020. Newton’s Nook Day! Here’s what I created in 2020.

I wanted to do ‘something different’ for this tag as it felt like I’d stamped and coloured quite a few images during the tag challenge! So I chose Andrea’s bold tag as my inspiration. I used a Newton’s Nook stencil and some silver luna paste. Very happy with how that turned out! Embellishing the tag was much more challenging! First of all I added some pine springs but they didn’t look right… In the end, I used an older Hero Arts wood-mounted stamp embossed in teal glitter powder plus a glittery Simon Says Stamp die cut!
