Birthday Stars

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the CAS on Friday challenge where the theme is ‘male’.

I often use greens and blues for male cards, but today I decided to use a different colour palette and used an older Simon Says Stamp background die (called Stacked Stars) to cut a panel I’d created with Color Bursts.

I added a few extra die cut stars and a sentiment by Hero Arts to finish off my card.

Happy thoughts butterfly

Hello again everyone!

Next up today I’m playing along in the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches using Memory Box dies.

It’s been a while since I made a butterfly card and it was so fun to pull out my butterfly dies for this card. I used the Swirl Butterfly and Darla Butterfly dies for my focal point, together with the beautifully intricate Playful Petal Bundle die.

The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp.

Happy Heart Day 2022!

Hello everyone!

Happy Heart Day! Today I’m playing along with the photo challenge at the Inspirational challenge blog.

I chose the beautiful Floral Bouquet die by Memory Box and coloured it with distress inks and coloured pencils. The background embossing folder is also by Memory Box and the sentiment is by Savvy Stamps.

Little Glittery Heart

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I’m still using my Valentine’s and heart products and when I saw the sketch, decided this cute square of hearts die by Impress Cards and Craft would be perfect. I cut it from light grey cardstock and then mounted it onto black cardstock. I added a few white hearts and a glittery one right in the centre!

For the centre strip, I went for white on white and used a border die by The Greetery. Finally I added a sentiment by Lawn Fawn. Would you believe that I bought the entire mini stamp set just for that sentiment years ago, but this is the first year that I actually remembered to use it!

Shiny Valentine

Hello everyone!

Tday I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge with a Valentine’s card using non-traditional colours!

I received an order from Simon Says Stamp this morning – I picked up a few of their embossing folders in a sale last month! Anyway, I could not wait to play, so I misted the reverse of some satin cardstock and got embossing with the Pinpoint Starlets folder. I love the deep embossing folders but I am very careful after the Great Pinecone Plethora Trauma of 2021! Anyway, I have found it easier to put a cutting plate on top of the embossing folder rather than below it – I find it ensures this satin cardstock stays in place.

I left the cardstock dry and die cut the hearts using a few Memory Box heart dies. I then adhered the Poppystamps Doodle Happy Valentine’s Day on the gold heart before sticking all the hearts onto the embossed base. I have to say this was very difficult to photograph but I got there in the end!

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge has a theme of embossing this week, so I’m also entering this card over there!

You warm my heart

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the The Card Concept challenge using products sent to me by Penny Black.

After playing around with lots of different ideas for the beautiful Wholeheartedly cling stamp (40-817), I ended up stamping it on a square card base using a grey ink.  I then used my Prismacolour pencils to add colour and definition to the leaves and stems! I certainly needed sharp pencils for this!

I added a sentiment from the Warm My Heart stamp set (30-895) and a few hearts from yesterday’s crafting and sequins to complete my card.

I love the foliage heart in the inspiration image, although I veered from their colour palette with my CAS creation!
