Meet Mooch!

Hi there!

Today I’m playing along with the Addicted to CAS challenge which has a theme of feline.

Last week, I saw a card using a fabulous stamp called ‘Mooch’ by Lavinia Stamps. I knew I had to have it so I tracked it down and it landed on my doormat yesterday morning.

I made this card for my dad who loves very CAS cards so I kept it very simple with a distress ink square and the stamped Mooch. The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

Older Simons die cuts

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the sketch challenge hosted by Sunday Stamps.

For my take on the sketch, I started by cutting some patterned paper with a die from Paper Rose’s Track Circle frame set. I then cut two older Simon Says Stamp dies – the Adeline Butterfly and the Calliope Flourish and coloured them with distress inks.

I added a few Nuvo drops to the flower centres, a Sugar Pea Designs sentiment and a few sequins to complete my take.

March 2022 Get Cracking on Christmas

Hello everyone!

It’s the third Thursday of the month (how is that even possible?!) and so it’s time for me to play along with Jenn Shurkus’s ‘Get Cracking on Christmas’. Today I’m using the colour palette from this week’s Christmas Card Throwdown.

What a fun combo! I really love it and I’m definitely going to use it again! Today, I chose to use the fabulous Triangle Trees stamp set from Reverse Confetti and dug into my patterned paper mountain. I heat embossed three tree stamps… I don’t heat emboss much nowadays but it’s as special as it was the first time I watched that powder melt many moons ago! Anyway, I arranged the three trees on a My Favorite Things sentiment circle and added a few gems to complete my card.

Daffodil Wreath

Hi there!

Today I’m playing along with the colour challenge at The Paper Players.

I love that one of the colours this week is called ‘Daffodil Delight’ and so I just had to include them in my card! My new Marianne Designs daffodil die arrived this morning so I jumped at the chance to play with it straight away. I paired it with a Honey Bee Stamps Grapevine die that I cut twice. All die cuts are coloured with distress ink.

I used an older WRMK 3D embossing folders – I always think of these as the original 3D embossing folders, they really took embossing folders to the next level!

To complete my card, I added a sentiment from an older set by Neat & Tangled.

Sparkly Forsythia

Hi there!

Today I’m playing along in the March Four Seasons Challenge which has a fabulous spring inspiration board! One of the photos that caught my eye when I looked at the board was a beautiful vase of forsythia and as my forsythia bush has just burst into bloom, I knew I wanted to focus on that!

I used Penny Black’s beautiful Delicate & Dainty cling stamp (40-510)! I love this stamp but I haven’t used it much since I bought it five years ago… seriously, how can it be five years – I remember creating this card with it as if it was yesterday!

Anyway, back to this card. I lightly blended some distress ink and then stamped the image with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide. I coloured the image using two shades of yellow gouache and then added a sentiment from the Thinking of You clear stamp set (30-825). I added a frame cut with the largest die from the Stitched Frames die set  (51-709), some yellow Nuvo drops, sequins and pearls.

Pressed daisy stems

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I’ve recently reorganised my dies and when I saw the sketch, I decided to create what I’d originally thought of as the background using an Avery Elle kraft frame die. I sponged some distress ink onto the base of the frame to reflect the sketch.

I smooshed green and purple distress ink onto the card base and coloured the Memory Box Daisy Stems die cuts with the same colours as the background dried. After adhering the diecuts and frame, I added a Memory Box sentiment to complete my card.
