Day 14 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 14 was Muse Christmas Visions – the team came up with some amazing inspiration but as soon as I saw Kim Heggins’s gorgeous Gina K tag, I knew that would be my inspiration!

It looked like Kim may have used distress markers and water for her tag. I don’t have many green distress markers so I stuck with the regular inks. It was quite difficult to get the amazing contrast that Kim managed to achieve, but I was quite happy with how my version turned out in the end.

The sentiment is also from the Simon Says Stamp/Gina K Stamptember collaboration set (Joy of the Season).

Day 13 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 13 was Technique Tuesday. I don’t have many of their stamps but I do have a Christmas set, Twinkle On, which I bought many years ago in Archivers while on a work trip to the USA! I loved how Jill Dewey Hawkins used patterned paper for her tag base, so I just had to use that for my inspiration!

I stamped the small fairy lights image from the set multiple times across the tag base and then coloured it with my Twinkling  H2Os before adding a bold sentiment from the same set.

Day 12 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 12 was Pretty Prink Posh. I love this brand so much and have been able to add a lot more of their stamps to my crafty collection as I discovered Dies to Die For sell them here in the UK! I have just bought the new Layered Tree die and I couldn’t wait to use it for my take on the gorgeous tag by Caly Person.

The most time was spent choosing the green cardstock to use for each layer! Once cut, I lightly sponged some distress ink over each section before sticking them together. Finally I added a glittery star and some Nuvo Glitter Drops to complete my take!

Day 11 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 11 was Winnie & Walter. I have a couple of older festive sets and decided on a set which I don’t think I’ve used before – Season’s Tweetings – for my take on Tracey’s sweet tag.

I created a blended background with same distress inks that Laura used (Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean) and then trimmed it down before adhering the die cut window to the base.

I loved the colour palette that Tracey used – especially for her penguin’s scarf so I followed suit! I can honestly say that I think I used a Twinkling H2O paint that I have never used before – any you all know how much I love and use them! I heat embossed some stars on the tag base before creating the soft background with Distress inks.

Day 10 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 10 was Studio Katia. I don’t have any of their stamps but I do have a few of their dies and decided to use the Creative Stitched Window die for my take on Laura Volpes’s amazing tag.

I created a blended background with same distress inks that Laura used (Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean) and then trimmed it down before adhering the die cut window to the base.

I stamped and cut the Mama Elephant Arctic Penguins and adhered them to the tag, together with a sentiment by My Favorite Things.

Day 9 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2018

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year.

The sponsor for Day 7 was Pink & Main – they have some super cute stamps but sadly this is another brand which is under represented in my festive supplies!

The inspiration tags were wonderful and Zsofia Molnar’s striking tags really caught my eye. For my take, I embossed a snowflake from the Simon Says Stamp Lots of Snowflakes set using Wow  Platinum Sparkle embossing powder and then a sentiment from a SSS/Avery Elle Stamptember 2017 collaboration set. I liked Zsofia’s inking around the edge of her tags but I think I was a little heavy handed the first time I tried it! I prefer my second attempt where I had a far lighter touch! Which do you prefer?
