Seeing Purple

Hi there!

I’m back with another card using a stamp from my wood-mounted collection. Today, I chose Penny Black’s ‘Portraits’ stamp and decided to play along with the photo challenge over at the Just Us Girls Blog.

I coloured the flowers in purple watercolour and added some details with my Twinkling H2Os. I dotted a ton of silver stickles over the flowers and adhered a glittery Waffle Flower die cut sentiment to finish off my card.

Butterfly Bear

Hello!

Today I’m playing along with the February Penny Black & More challenge where the theme is ‘anything goes’ with the option of tags.

For my take, I pulled out another of my adorable bear stamps – ‘Butterfly Bear’ by Penny Black. After stamping and colouring the image, I cut it out using a Penny Black tag die and added a Clearly Besotted sentiment.

I wanted to add a little something to the background and was delighted to stumble across my old ‘Butterfly Edge’ stamp, also by Penny Black. Originally I was going to stamp this using some pink or purple ink but I kept it simple in the end and used Pumice Stone distress oxide. I’m glad I did, I really like the subtle image it created!

Hey there, flower!

Hello everyone!

I’m back with my entry for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I used another older wood stamp (Tigress by Penny Black) that I stamped a couple of times at the base of my card. Once the ink was dry, I blended a little distress ink into the background before colouring the image with my Twinkling H2Os. Can you see that shimmer?

I added a few dots of stickles and a die cut sentiment from Simon Says Stamp to finish off my card.

Spring Gems

Happy Saturday everyone!

So I was doing really well with my attempt to catch up with the Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge and then life suddenly got a bit busy!

Luckily I was able to spend a lot of time in my craft room today so I can start catching up. AGAIN!

Today, I’m playing along with an amazing colour challenge from the Color Throwdown. Rust, purple, grey and white. Isn’t that a great combo? Actually quite Halloween-like, but including grey rather than black softens the palette I think!

Anyway, I struggled to find a suitable wood-mounted stamps to showcase the palette properly… and then I came across my fabulous Spring Gems stamp from Hero Arts. I stamped the image using Brilliance ink in Pearlescent Rust and then coloured the dots using my Twinkling H2Os. I added a sentiment from Mama Elephant cut from glitter card and finished off the card with a few sequins – you can never have too much sparkle in my view!

Sending love and flowers

Hello everyone!

I’m determined to catch up with the Daily Marker 30 Day challenge so here is my Day 18 colouring! I used an older stamp from Stampendous which I coloured with my Twinkling H2Os.

I added it to a base that I had embossed with a Crafts-Too folder and then added a sentiment by Simon Says Stamp and a few pearls as a finishing touch.

I’m entering this into the CAS on Friday challenge where the theme is ‘use a tag’. I’m so happy to find a CAS challenge that allows dry embossing – one of my favourite techniques!

Orange Flower

Hello Everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the latest sketch challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches.

I decided to move away from hearts and instead used a beautiful wood-mounted flower stamp from Magenta as my focal point, which I coloured for my Day 16 Colouring for the Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge. I played around with different ideas (leaves, smaller flowers) for the other two images until I came across my fun Hero Arts Quattros set – I liked the contrast between the images and decided on a stamp from that set instead!

I added some controlled ink smooshing and a sentiment from a Karen Burniston die to finish off my card.

Thanks for stopping by!
