Totally Amazing Poppies

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the colour challenge at The Paper Players and the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

When I first saw the sketch challenge, I struggled with it a bit and it was only when I saw the colour challenge that I thought that tall poppies could work perfectly for both challenges! So I cut my Memory Box Prim Poppy die and coloured it with distress ink and added a bit of detail with a coloured pencil. Next I cut two yellow strips from some of my patterned paper mountain and added a Whimsy Stamps sentiment and a few die cut stars to complete my card.

Sealiously Amazing

Hello again everyone!

Next today I’m playing along with the colour challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. It’s such a fun palette, but it did take me quite a while to decide what to create!

I had toyed with using this beautiful Simply Graphic seal die for another challenge this week, but in the end decided it would be perfect for this challenge. To create my little scene, I made an ink blended panel using a couple of distress inks (Seedless Preserves and Candied Apple) to create the razzleberry colour and cut a few Poppystamps Whittle Mounds from it. I then inked a blue square in the centre of my card base and arranged the mounds and seal.

To complete my take, I added a sentiment by Reverse Confetti.

White Berry Wreath

Hi there everyone!

Today I’m playing along with this week’s Color Throwdown challenge where the colour combo is grey, kraft and white. This would have been perfect for another Christmas card, but I decided to go with a non-festive card this time!

For my card, I cut the beautiful Joy Crafts Circle of Berries die from kraft and coloured it with my white Prisma pencil. I then cut it twice from vellum and layered all three wreaths to my card base. I adhered the beautiful Pinpoint Butterfly Trio (Memory Box) and then an Avery Elle sentiment before adding LOADS of baby sequins to the card.

Pink Hibiscus

Hi there everyone!

Next today I’m playing along with the gorgeous combo that is this week’s Color Throwdown challenge (pink, orange, green and yellow) using Penny Black products.

First of all, I stamped the Energized cling stamp (40-476) and lightly blended yellow ink around it. Next, I cut the Tropical Paradise dies (51-643) and coloured them using distress inks . Finally I added a sentiment from the Thinking of You set (30-825) and a few gems.

Vase Collection

Hi there!

First up today, I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

First of all, I created an ink-blended background using distress inks. Then I used some of my favourite dies and stems from Simply Graphic, Stampin Up, Altenew and Miss P Loves. I was going to colour the images but decided I like the impact of the white against the inky background! The sentiment is by Poppystamps.

Dream and Discover

Hello again!

In between all my festive cardmaking so far this month, I’ve also found time to play with some stamps and dies that Penny Black kindly sent to me from their latest Dream & Discover release.

I just couldn’t wait to ink up the Jellyfish from the beautiful Swimming By set (30-845)! First of all, I blended some distress ink using an oval mask and stamped some seaweed (from Swimming By and Starfish Wishes (30-847) sets) before removing the mask. Then I stamped the beautiful Jellyfish using a light ink. I coloured in the image using my Twinkling H2Os before stamping the image again in Distress Oxide ink. This is when I realised that my colouring was far too soft, but I couldn’t use my Twinklings again because I didn’t want the oxide ink to bleed. So I turned to my Prisma pencils instead! Finally I added some sequin bubbles and a sentiment from the Snippets set (30-283)!

For my next card, I used the beautiful Seashells set (30-843). I love these shells so much! Super easy to fussy cut and a joy to colour! I wanted to add a little something different to the background so I cut up a die cut from the Wonky Squares die (51-424) to resemble a net!

For my last card today, I used the fabulous Tropical Paradise dies (51-643) which I coloured using distress inks before adhering to a partially-blended background. The sentiment is from the Grateful Heart set (30-467).
