Bundles of branches

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Just Us Girls challenge which has a super colour combo this week!

I love how a couple of Instagram cardmakers, Julia and Elizabeth, use coloured die cuts with the same die and their makes inspired my card! I used a brand new die from the Stamp Market’s Add Some Greenery die set, coloured with distress ink, plus an older sentiment die by Waffle Flower Crafts.

You’re sealiously amazing

Hello  everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the CAS challenge at The Paper Players.

The theme is wildlife – I have a LOT of older Hero Arts animal colour layering stamps that would have been perfect for this challenge but I kept thinking of this beautiful Simply Graphic seal die so I HAD to use it! I paired it with an Ellen Hutson background die and slipped an ink blended background behind it.

To complete my take, I added a sentiment by Reverse Confetti and a few die cut stars.

Leaf Bundle Hello

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Time Out challenge to CASE a beautiful card by Michelle Ferguson.

As soon as I saw Michelle’s card, I immediately thought of the Leaf Bundle embossing folder that I picked up recently from Simon Says Stamp. I decided that I wanted to ink up the folder so that the leaves popped, but I’ve had very limited success with this technique in the past. But today, I located an old brayer and used that to transfer Speckled Egg distress oxide ink – and I’m very happy with the result!

I added a vellum die cut (Sylvan Sprig by Poppystamps) and a sentiment by Concord & 9th plus a few Nuvo drops, although I wish I’d used silver Nuvo drops now rather than the purple as they look so dark in these photos!

Honeyblossom Sprig

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I decided to use the three circles in the sketch as part of the background, rather than the focal point. Instead, they help highlight the beautiful Honeyblossom Sprig die by Memory Box. Can you believe this die is from 2012. It actually belongs to my mum, but has resided in my craft room for a while now! I still love it!

The sentiment is also by Memory Box.

Tickled Pink!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

The theme of this month’s Memory Box / Outside the Box challenge is ‘tickled pink’ and although I was tempted to do a heart card for this challenge, I ended up going with a butterfly theme!

I used the beautiful Drifting Side butterfly with the Just Because script, both by Memory Box. The background is a Simon Says Stamp Embossing folder that I’ve coveted for a while but managed to get just before Christmas!

I’m also entering this into a brand new challenge called ‘Can you handle the pressure‘ – where the twist is pink. Thanks for letting me know about it, Diane!

Bag of Happy Thoughts

Happy Friyay from a VERY windy London!

Today I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge which has a fabulous palette of light blue, dark blue, forest green and brown.

Dies from lots of different companies on this one – all coloured with distress inks! I knew I wanted to use my brand new Flat Paper Bag die by Waffle Flower Crafts, and paired it with the Memory Box Flower Cluster die. Once I assembled the images, I knew I needed more greenery so I added a few extra branches from the Altenew Branches and Berries die set.

I then cut a piece of patterned paper using a die from The Greetery’s Nordic Circles and adhered it to my card base before adhering the flower bag image. Finally I added a few Nuvo drops and a Mama Elephant sentiment to complete my card.
