Christmas, New Year and Winter

Christmas in July 2024 – Day 31

Hello everyone!

I cannot believe it’s Day 31 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2024! Where did the month go? As usual, I still have ideas (and supplies) that I haven’t used!

Of course, I couldn’t resist adding to my supplies during a Christmas in July sale! And my order actually arrived this morning so I have been able to create with it before July is out! Yay!

I chose the brand new-to-me Flowering Christmas Tree Burst 3D embossing folder by Spellbinders. I just LOVE this design, but it is on the large side so like the card I created for Day 25,  this is a larger card than I would normally send!

I went for bolder colours than my usual palette and darkened both of my pieces of coloured card with distress inks.

The tree die is by The Stamp Market and I added a few die cut flowers to reflect the embossed trees. The sentiment is an old Hero Arts wood-mounted stamp.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas in July 2024 – Day 30

Hello everyone!

It’s Day 30 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2024! I was hoping that a Christmas in July crafty order would arrive this morning but sadly it didn’t… so I turned to my Plan B which I had started working on ‘just in case’.

The background is embossed with my beloved Pinecone Plethora folder and the main image is an oldie but goodie – the Antique Pine Label die by Memory Box. After colouring it with distress inks, I added a Simply Graphic berry die and a few cones from the Stampin’ Up Christmas Pinecone die set that I first used for this card.

After assembling the card, I felt the lower section needed a splash of that red mirror card so I added a few berries. I was a bit concerned that they aren’t attached to a stem but now looking at my photos, I think they work!

Of course the sentiment is from my go-to Mama Elephant set!

Christmas in July 2024 – Day 29

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 29 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2024 and today I have another twofer to share.

Today the small but mighty Winter’s Wispy Trees by The Stamp Market take centre stage, ably supported by embossing folders!

For my first card, I chose a trio of trees and adhered them onto a panel embossed with a Simon Says Stamp folder. The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

For my second card, I chose a different trio of trees and was planning to adhere them directly to an embossed panel again. However, this Spellbinders folder produces some wonderfully deep embossing and the images felt a little heavy for the wispy trees. So I added a simple die cut, some chunky glitter and a Clearly Besotted sentiment.

So which one do you prefer?

Christmas in July 2024 – Day 28

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 28 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2024 and today I’m using products kindly sent to me by Penny Back.

When I looked through my Christmas in July cards, I was AGHAST that I hadn’t done any wreaths. Fortunately, I had just the stamp to rectify this shocking oversight! This beautiful image is called Christmas Circlet (40-796) and I coloured it with distress reinkers before fussy cutting it out.

I added a little Tumbled Glass distress ink to a card panel which I then embossed with the Noted embossing folder (65-005) before adding some gold splatters. I then adhered the Circlet to the card with sticky fixers. I chose the word from the Merry Edger die set (51-475) and added several layers of cardstock to lift it above my Circlet image. I toyed with adding a stamped ‘Christmas’ underneath but decided against it because I really wanted to add a bow and felt that the extra sentiment would be a little too much! The vellum bow was created from both bows in the Jumble Bauble set (51-743).

Christmas in July 2024 – Day 27

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 27 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2024 and today I have a fourfer to share. Fourfer… is that even a word?! Ah well you know what I mean!

The idea for the cards popped into my head last night when I was looking for base card for my pinecone sprig. I tried some Tonic Studio speciality paper – it wasn’t right but I vowed to use it today… well I certainly did that! The tree images are from a set by Marianne Designs that I got a few years ago. I think I can safely say that I really don’t need that coverplate/tree die set that I was thinking about at the start of the month!

For my first card, I cut some black card with the fabulous Heffydoodle background die and added a generous amount of ink splatters! After I had arranged all my trees, I used Scattered Straw distress stickles to ground my little forest.

For my second card I used an Alex Syberia background die. I toyed with adding a sentiment but decided to keep it very CAS!

For my third card, I embossed the background with a favourite Sizzix folder – I just love those little deep embossed trees.

And last, but not least is my fourth card – I used an older My Favorite Things sentiment die for this one- and some more gold splatters!

So which one do you prefer?

Christmas in July 2024 – Day 26

Hello everyone!

Happy Festive Friday and welcome to Day 26 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2024!

Today I used part of the Stampin’ Up Christmas Pinecone die set that I first used for this card. It’s very easy to trim this background die into three sections, so expect to see a couple of similar cards at some point.

I kept this simple with a few gold splatters, a Creative Expressions sentiment and a few die cut snowflakes around the pinecone image

Although now I’m worried about the sentiment… when I bought it, I envisaged it with a bunch of snowflakes and now I’m using it with snow-encrusted pinecones instead… I do hope my recipient gets it and doesn’t think I’m sending them cold, frosty/uncaring wishes. Ahh, it’s clearly too late in the evening and I’m overthinking this – please tell me you wouldn’t be offended to receive a card like this!!

Thanks for stopping by!
