Green and…blue leaves?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been playing with my Distress Oxide inks and Color Bursts today and had great fun making different backgrounds for future projects. It was my first time using colour bursts! Oh my! They are amazing! I only have a couple of colours (at the moment) so I decided to combine them with my distress oxide inks to see what happened – love the effect!

I used one of my backgrounds to make this card. Believe it or not, I actually used Lucky Clover distress oxide ink here but somehow it looks much lighter in places – almost like Cracked Pistachio. Weird, but I like it!

I used a fabulous background die from Altenew and inlaid the pieces that I’d cut from my coloured background into a white die cut panel. To finish it off, I added a small piece of vellum and a greeting cut using some of the Altenew inline alpha set.

I’m entering this into the current Color Throwdown challenge – blue, green and white make up this week’s colour combo!

Colourful Autumn Greetings

Hi everyone!

I’m so looking forward to getting my hands on the gorgeous new Fractile Leaves stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, but while I’m waiting (not so patiently) for it to arrive, I thought I’d have a play with the ‘One with nature set’. I love how versatile this set is and I had such fun colouring the trees!

I popped the die cut trees onto an ink-smooshed  background and then added a greeting from Hero Arts to finish it off.

I’m also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge and Work it Wednesday  – which all have the same theme – stamp it!

Starting to feel like Autumn

There’s definitely a touch of Autumn in the air! Leaves are beginning to fall and I think that the days are feeling a little shorter.

For today’s card, I used the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, but instead of 3 die cuts, I chose a Memory Box stem die with three seed heads. Hope this is OK for the challenge!

I created a background panel using some distress stains and then added a Concord & 9th sentiment to finish it off!

I’m also entering this into the current Memory Box challenge which has the theme ‘falling for fall’.

Newton’s pile of fun

Hello everyone!

The theme over at Time Out Challenges is ‘autumn with an optional twist of speed stamping’ – a perfect opportunity for me to ink up my fabulous new Newton’s Nook autumn stamps!

I absolutely loved an autumn stamp that Newton’s Nook did for Stamptember 2015, but I didn’t manage to snag it when it was in store. This Newton/leaves image is different, but just as fabulous and I bought it as soon as I could! Thanks Seven Hills Crafts, for your speedy shipping!

Anyway, I failed miserably at the ‘speed stamping’ element of the challenge – I just don’t colour quickly! Plus I fussy cut some of the little leaves which meant that all in all, I was well over the 10 minute challenge! Heehee!

Golden Peach Trees

Happy Saturday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards. We’re a little earlier this week as we are pairing up with the wonderful team over at Less is More for this challenge. The challenge will run for a fortnight and there will be one joint winner but AAA Cards and Less is More will have their own runners-up.

Anyway, the theme for our joint challenge is ‘one layer with a coloured card base’ and our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers.

For my card, I embossed an older image from Magenta Art Stamps with the fabulous Altenew golden peach embossing powder. I added some shading to the base of the trees using a white pencil and also stamped a Clearly Besotted sentiment with white ink. Finally, to anchor my image, I dry-embossed a square frame.

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards on the AAA Cards and Less is More blogs. At AAA Cards, we are also joined by Guest Designer Milka from craftymilka.blogspot.co.uk who has some amazing creations on her blog, so please drop by her site!

Thanks for stopping by – I do hope you play along with us!
