Happy thoughts of autumn

Hi Everyone!

Next up today is what I created for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge

What a fun sketch! Loved seeing all the creative inspiration over at the challenge blog and in the end I decided to use my favourite My Monthly Hero kit. It’s from September 2018 but I didn’t actually buy it until earlier this year – I was so happy to be able to purchase it so many months after it went on sale!

I coloured the little images with my Twinkling H2Os (just look at that shimmer!) before adhering them to an embossed panel. I added a sentiment from Mama Elephant to finish off my card.

Falling leaves

Hello friends!

It’s going to be a busy day on my blog today as I share some cards I made for challenges that all close today!

First up is my entry for the current Memory Box challenge where the theme is ‘falling leaves’. I used the fabulous palette from the Color Throwdown Challenge this week – red, yellow and brown to colour the beautiful Jasper Leave die from Memory Box which I cut in half so that the sentiment didn’t cover the leaves!

I wasn’t too sure about the background so simply added some splatters before adhering the die cut and sentiment.

Wicked together

Hi there!

Once again i’s time for a new challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card using just one corner and we have a fabulous seasonal colour palette as our optional twist. Our sponsor is Stamplorations.

I kept it pretty simple again. I stamped and embossed an image from the Picket Fence Studios ‘Wicked Together’ set and then blended some Carved Pumpkin distress ink into the centre of the pumpkin. I masked off the centre of the pumpkin and blended Twisted Citron to create a vibrant background.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined by the lovely Sandie – who has some lovely inspiration on her blog!

Hope you can play along with us!

Hello Bootiful!

Hi Everyone!

Today, I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge

When I saw the sketch, I thought of my Poppy Stamps Stick Frames die. It didn’t really work exactly with the sketch so I cut up the frames and arranged them separately on my card. The ghosts are from the Friendly Ghosts set by Memory Box and the sentiment is my My Favorite Things.

I embossed the background using a Creative Expressions folder.

Happy Autumn Border

Hi there!

I can barely believe that it’s time for a new challenge at AAA Cards! The weeks seem to fly by, don’t they? This fortnight we’d like you to create a one-layer CAS card and the optional twist is autumn. Our sponsor is Winnie & Walter.

Quite honestly, I’m a bit annoyed with myself. I love Winnie & Walter and had previously thought of the perfect set that I could use for my card. I completely forgot they were our sponsor when I made the card last week and ended up using the new Pretty Pink Posh Fall Borders stamp set instead.

If I get time, I’ll try to make another card with the set I’d planned to use.

Back to today’s card. I actually love making one-layer cards and this was so much fun to make! I coloured it using my Twinkling H2O paints. I decided to use a Hero Arts sentiment but wanted to use an ink that was the same colour as some of the leaves. I was so chuffed to discover a perfect match (Cosmic Berry) – love my Altenew inks. I seem to have a colour for every occasion!

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined by the super talented Joy D’Souza – you have to visit her blog – it’s jammed-packed with inspiration!

Hope you can play along with us!
