Hello 2019!

Hello there and Happy 2019!

Seriously, what happened to 2018? Didn’t it just fly by?! Scary!

Anyway, I wanted to share the card I made for my lovely mum! I used the My Favorite Things fireworks die and set about doing some inlaid die-cutting! I totally underestimated the time this would take – it turned into quite a labour of love, I must say!

The sentiment is from a Die-versions die – love the Art Deco feel!

New Year Party

Hi everyone!

It’s been a very long time since I played along with a My Favorite Things sketch challenge. Not sure why as I do love a sketch challenge!

Anyway, I saw this week’s challenge pop up on Instagram and realised that as I had the Gift Box Cover Up die, I could easily play along! Sticking with my current New Year’s obsession THEME I created a background using distress oxide inks and the MFT firework stamps. I have had these stamps for a while and this is the first time I’ve used them. Best layering firework stamps ever! The polymer is trimmed to a point in one place on each stamp to make it really easy to line up the stamps. I’ve bought a few firework stamp sets over the years, and most of them have been a bit disappointing (probably user error!) but this set has to be my favourite now!

Anyway, after stamping the background, I die cut the Die-versions Party Crowd from black glitter paper, cut out the figures I wanted to use and stuck them to my base card to create an outside/balcony scene before adhering the frame using funky foam.

Finally, I added a sentiment from my favourite/most used Simon Says Stamp Holiday Words on a Line die set to complete my card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Starry 2019

Hello friends and happy Friyay! Although, I’m not sure about you but I had no idea what day it was when I woke up – post-Christmas limbo time I guess!!

Anyway, now that I’ve given out my festive thank you cards, I’m working on my new year’s cards.

I decided to play along with the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge again this week – and so this is my take using a Creative Expressions stencil, a couple of the Cosmic Shimmer luna pastes and some very old Cuttlebug dies!

I’m loving the luna paste so much – it has a much smoother consistency than the Nuvo embellishment mousse and I’m hoping it will survive a little longer than my mousses!

Festive thanks

Hello everyone!

I’m not quite ready to put away my festive supplies! I love using them for thank you cards that I hand out after Christmas.

This is the card I made for my lovely mum using Simon Says Stamp Winter Flowers stamps and matching dies. I embossed, cut and coloured all the images with my Twinkling H2Os and then created a see-through card front using Jennifer McGuire’s press n seal technique. Time consuming but totally worth it! The sentiment is by Winnie and Walter.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (something new – the matching dies were a new purchase).

Thanks for stopping by!
