Cream and Gold Noel

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along the Color Hues challenge! The palette this fortnight is gold and cream.

This colour combo screams Christmas card to me and so I pulled out my Simply Graphic dies, speciality gold card and got crafty! I decided to use gold textured mirror card and glitter card for my baubles and I actually used two different creams for the card base and branch, but that hasn’t photographed well. And because you can never have to much shimmer on a Christmas card, I splattered some gold paint across the background before adhering the die cuts. The sentiment is from a Christmas sentiment die set by Hunkydory.

Happy Fall die cuts

Hi there!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge .

So many different products/brand on this little card! I used the Penny Black Leaf Pattern background die for the large panel. I also wanted to use an old Simon Says Stamp die (Berkshire Leaf) for the strip on the sketch, but I felt it didn’t work with the intricate die cut panel… so I adhered it to a strip of the same coloured paper – I like how it turned out! I added a few Simply Graphic die cuts and a Hero Arts sentiment to complete my card.

Lavender Bunch

Hello again everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown! The pretty palette this week is purple, green and khaki!

I bought the Hero Arts Lavender Bunch stamp and die way back at the start of lockdown thinking I’d have tons of time to craft, but of course, I didn’t! So when I saw the colour combo this week, I thought it would be perfect for the lavender bunch image! I paired it with a Hero Arts Woodgrain Frame die and a sentiment from Mama Elephant.

AAA Cards One Corner challenge with cosy twist

Hi there!

It’s time for another challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card using one corner of your card base only; our sponsor is Stamplorations. Our optional twist for this challenge is ‘cosy’!

I decided to use one of my vast collection of Newton Nook stamps for this card – there are a couple of sets that would work really well, but I love this image of Newton in the laundry basket – he looks so cosy, I knew it would be perfect for the challenge. I used a stencil by Newton’s Nook to ground my image which I coloured with my Twinkling H2O paints and fussy cut. The sentiment is also by.. yep, Newton’s Nook!

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, and one of my favourite cardmakers, Angie – go check out her blog, it’s so inspiring!!

Hope you can play along with us!

Abstract Flowers

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the challenge at the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge – this week is a fun colour challenge! I did find it a bit difficult to match the Stampin’ Up ink colours to something in my craft room, so in the end I used an Altenew ink and coloured cardstock!

I stamped a Tim Holtz background on my card base before adhering the Simply Graphic die cuts. To complete my card, I added a Sugar Pea sentiment.

A sketch and colour challenge

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the challenge at the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge – every now and again they have a combined sketch and colour challenge and although it’s quite restrictive, I think that makes for a real challenge! Plus it’s so interesting to see what everyone comes up with and see how different every entry is!

First I sponged some Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink to two corners of my card base. I die cut a white panel using a Simply Graphic dotty die and then adhered it to my cardbase. I used Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide inks for my centre panel and adhered the Viva Tree by Poppystamps. The sentiment is by Hero Arts.
