AAA Cards sketch challenge

Hi there!

It’s time for another challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card using the sketch below and if you want to join with our optional twist, please use a gnome!

For the main image, I used my new Fir and Foliage No. 2 set from The Greetery. So pleased that Seven Hills Crafts is stocking this brand now! I added a bit of silvery twine and a Mama Elephant sentiment.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards using  LOTS of gnomes (or gonks as I know them as!) which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Fran, who has some lovely cards on her blog – go check it out!!

Hope you can play along with us!

Autumnal Monterey Vine

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Following the sketch, I blended a strip using Salvaged Patina distress ink, making sure I blended more heavily at the bottom of my card so that there would be a subtle ombre effect. I embossed a panel using the Spellbinders Falling Leaves embossing folder and then coloured the beautiful Poppystamps Monterey Vine die using regular distress inks and adhered it to my card. Finally I stamped a Hero Arts sentiment to complete my take.

Magical wispy trees

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today, I’m playing along with this week’s Color Throwdown challenge  which has a fabulous  combo of pink, lavender and aqua.

I used the fabulous new Winter’s Wispy Trees from the Stamp Market plus a die cut and sentiment by My Favorite Things.

AAA Cards One Corner with Boo twist

Hi there!

It’s time for another challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card using one corner of your card base only. Our optional twist for this challenge is ‘boo’!

I didn’t have much crafty time ahead of our submission deadline this week so pulled together a very quick CAS card using a purple cardbase, a smidge of white ink, a fun Sizzix ghost die and a sentiment from My Favorite Things.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Helen, who has lovely cards on her blog!!

Hope you can play along with us!

Beyond Grateful

Hi again everyone!

Next up today I’m playing along with this week’s Color Throwdown challenge  which has a fabulous  combo of turquoise, kraft, brown and white and I’m using the sketch from the CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge.

I created three panels for each of the colours using my distress oxide inks and cut them with Penny Black’s Leaf Patter background die (51-432) I applied a piece of thin card to the pack of the turquoise panel and inlaid leaves from the kraft and brown panels. I wanted to add another colour and so I used the die a fourth time to cut some shimmery cream card and inlaid the smallest leaves into the turquoise panel. Unfortunately, you can’t see the slight shimmer in my photos. I cut the panel in the shape from the sketch challenged and adhered it to my card base.  Finally I added a sentiment from Penny Black’s Ever Thanks set (30-813).

Stitched Pumpkin Trio

Happy Saturday everyone!

First up  today is my entry for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Following the sketch, I created the central panel on my card using my rather dry Nuvo glitter paste and an Echo Park Paper stencil. While that was drying, I pulled out my Memory Box Stitched Pumpkin dies which I haven’t used for a while. I coloured them with distress inks – although the sketch only has two circles, I decided to throw caution to the wind and put all three on my card! I then stamped a sentiment from the My Monthly Hero Kit from September 2018 and adhered all the elements to my card base.

Thanks for stopping by!
